***Duke Class of 2021 Discussion Thread***

Has anyone ever been deferred or denied Duke ED but got into Columbia or UPenn or Princeton or the like RD? :frowning:

@ellesbelles3 that’s what I’m wondering too. Because Columbia is on my RD list if I get rejected, but if I get rejected ED, then what could my odds truly be, ya feel

It’s certainly possible depending on the quality of your essays and if you have new information such as new test scores, mid year report, new EC activities or something else along those lines.

No, that’s never once happened. @ellesbelles3

@ellesbelles3 Haha @DukeShama is just giving you a hard time. I know people who have gotten into Ivies yet not UCs, so anything is possible in the RD round so apply

@ellesbelles3 I apologize for being sarcastic. College admissions is turning me into a bitter old thing.

@ellesbelles3 I have a friend who was rejected from Duke ED but got in Cornell and UPenn ED

how did he apply to 3 schools ed @gzhang24

Oops I meant she got into those schools RD

good luck

I’m keeping this full screen on my computer, lmao: http://■■■■■■■■■■/#dukeed2021notificationtime

Have any of you guys heard anything - ANYTHING (finaid, their advertisements or whatever) - from Duke?

I literally wish if there was any way to get decisions before the actual date.

Do you think it means anything that they added things to my Financial aid checklist? Like there were only 4 items on my checklist when I submitted and now there is 6 because they added the schedule D and schedule E to the checklist last week for me. Anyone else have this?

Nope, didnt even get an interview! kinda worried tbh :-/
um… but if you mean advertisements sometimes I get emails from Duke saying things like “Why Duke cares about spirit” et cetera

@AES12345 I’m on the same boat, I probably check my SISS portal every other day or so and found more items missing in the financial aid section very very recently. Possibly could be that they recently went through financial documents and are finding that they’re missing some.

that’s what I was thinking. I mean I had already submitted whatever else they had added but if they’re going through the financial aid docs do you think that it could mean something?

agreed. i dont think they would spend time calculating financials for students they know are not coming … but of course this is just an assumption

@identification I recently got an email about Duke Summer Program, for whatever that’s worth

have any of you been contacted directly by the financial aid office?
