***Duke Class of 2021 Discussion Thread***

when did you guys get it

@ellesbelles3 maybe that you got it too maybe not. Do you still have a to-do tab and review/update application details? Mine is still there nothing on the to-do list but the review/update application details is all still there. Others are saying theirs are gone. Thinking that might still be there though because its a deferral.

Last Wednesday. But honestly I think we are just reading too much into this because of nerves! They probably sent that to everyone who applied regardless of status or RD/ED.

@pgcollegeapp I think that is what the others are saying. The to-do tab is there but the actual checklist is gone/blank.

Sigh. That email means nothing. Breathe.

@therealdeal23 the email was sent to my parents last Tuesday.

Thanks everyone. I am feeling better hope all go the email my parents got. But stressed and scared.

Any of you received an email for extra information on family finances??

When did you get the email? @identification

I have received emails on extra family finances from one of the financial aid directors @identification
have you received them too?

They already asked for all of the requisite info but if you unknowingly didnā€™t submit it all they may email youā€¦ Iā€™d take it as a good sign if they do and no sign at all if they donā€™tā€¦ just my opinion
Also, emails mean nothing, stay calm itā€™s ok

When I log onto the page, first I just see 3 tabs across the top: Applicant Welcome, My Application, Financial Aid. I think there used to be 5 tabs there including the to-do tab. Then on the right side I see a link to Review/Update Application Details. I thought the to do list tab was gone. BUT when I click on Review/Update Application Details, the to do tab reappears and then thereā€™s a tab also that says review/update application details. My guess is that this is all over-analysis because this is all so stressful. But are there people out there who cannot get the to do tab to reappear, even when they click the Review/Update Application Details link? @purplepuffin @OsnapOsnap @BB1313

I saw I was missing a piece of financial aid last week and called to ask if it would affect my decision. They said they have absolutely no idea if people are accepted until they upload the information the 2 hours before they release the decisions tomorrow night. I wouldnā€™t worry about it. They told me if I get accepted I can send in the remaining financial aid forms afterwards. Good luck to everyone!

Iā€™ve decided the email to parents is not an indicator of being deferred. It was dated Dec 6. They hadnā€™t made all the decisions on Dec 6th. Right??? Wouldnā€™t they send the email out AFTER they made all the decisions (if it were a bad indication?)

Obviously the parent emails have no meaning whatsoever. Thereā€™s no way theyā€™d ever hint at the decision at any time before theyā€™re released, let alone over a week before

And I was thinking, maybe a to-do list could be seen as a GOOD sign. Maybe you need it if youā€™re in- as in get in your housing deposit, etc. I think what Iā€™m saying is that thereā€™s no way to read into things like this. Itā€™s so easy for me to get freaked out about so much of this. So breeeeeeeeeeeatthhhhhheā€¦

21 more hours man! http://ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– /#dukeed2021notificationtime

How do we actually check the decision?

from email: ā€œYou can view your admission decision letter upon logging in to your application checklist. If you previously activated your account, you will log in here: https://applicants.siss.duke.eduā€

I think everyoneā€™s looking too far into the checklist/emails. They wouldnā€™t hint before the release! Donā€™t worry, whether we get in, get rejected, or get deferred, itā€™ll be okay!
