<p>I just received an e-mail from Duke pertaining to the Focus program, urging me to apply there if I get into Duke. </p>
<p>Does everyone who applies get this e-mail? I'm just curious!</p>

<p>Yeah I got it as well. I doubt it is some form of likely letter because I doubt if there was one I would be on the receiving end of one. However, I would like to know if everybody got one. Did anyone not?</p>

<p>Hate to say it, but even I got one, and I’m a way below-average applicant. So I don’t think it means anything, unfortunately.</p>

<p>Oh No! Now people are making me freak out. I am a deferred ED applicant but I did not receive that email. Am I supposed to think that I am doomed?!</p>
<p>@DarkFlameMaster No I wouldnt worry about it. Deffered applicants are kept seperate from regular decision applicants. I mean they compare you but your interest level is still treated as an ED applicant. Im guessing they just sent it out to all RD people.</p>
<p>@leighhopeful Thank you for consoling me. Actually, I asked couple other deferred applicants and they all received that email. I guess that’s the reason I am freaking out.</p>

I don’t know whether you will be offered admission to Duke, but if you are, I hope you’ll apply for the Focus program. And if you’re not, I hope you seek out opportunities that will challenge you and engage you at whichever college you choose. In the meantime, if you want to learn more about the Focus program, please visit our website.</p>
<p>So I really wouldn’t worry if you didn’t get this email, as it does not appear to be a “likely letter”.</p>
<p>Yea I also got it… actually disregarded it at first… well we will see if a lot more people say they got it too? Engineering applicant… still very interested in the program if I did get in though. Also below average though - decent ECs and good standing in my country.</p>
