Ahh, I see. Nevermind then, lol.

So if I didn’t get a request for additional information, then have I been rejected?

So if I didn’t get a request for additional information, then have I been rejected?

I don’t think we should jump to that conclusion because there is still plenty of time for financial aid to be processed… the IDOC deadline isn’t even three weeks past.

Also, you wouldn’t get the e-mail if they have everything they need anyways. So no.

Has anybody else besides brbjmich gotten the notification requesting additional financial aid information?

Here is a similar thread, but for Stanford.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/stanford-university/317599-financial-aid-info-request.html

Two guys on the thread, Kamikazewave and Noldo post number, 9 and 14, said they received a request to submit additional financial aid from MIT, but BOTH were still flat out rejected. So, this request may NOT mean you were admitted, because the Financial Aid office and the Office of Admissions are SEPARATE, so the financial aid office may have just gotten around to your application, and realized they don’t have enough information, so, hence, they sent you a letter asking for more information.

And this is a post from a College Rep at William & Mary

“Financial aid works without knowing any admission decisions so they send out requests for additional information based on specified federal government standards. Those requests can go out to students who are eventually admitted, denied, or waitlisted. Admission does not consider financial info in making decisions and Financial Aid does not receive advance notice of admission decisions.”

It’s the last post on the page.

brbjmich, can you post the letter they sent you? Obviously remove any of the personal information.

Thanks for your posts, Whatsausername! That assuages some anxiety :)

If I’m Hispanic and didn’t get invited to the Latino recruitment weekend, what does that mean for me? I’m assuming a rejection, but ever hopeful!

got the email for the latino recruitment weekend today, talked to a couple people and i guess it means i’m

Got the Latino Recruitment Weekend email today. :)

Interestingly Case Western waited until admission decisions were out and then request additional information for FA.

I was deferred ED. Duke is my first choice and the only ‘dream/reach’ school I applied to. I expect a rejection in the coming weeks, so I’ll probably attend UT Austin. Gah, I know the odds but actually seeing the rejection would really kill me, haha.

Good luck guys! If not Duke, which university will you go to?

the wait is seriously driving me nuts. between duke and northwestern, I’m scared to check my email! also, make sure you check your spam inbox, because a lot of my northwestern emails have been ending up in there!

@sleepdeficit I feel the exact same way; duke is my absolute dream school and, while I know that I almost certainly won’t get in, to see the rejection in writing will be crushing. On the other hand, I want to get it over with! I am also considering UT! I’ve also gotten into Baylor and SMU, so those are choices too. However, I hope we are both surprised and get in our number 1 school!
@apandit I am scared to check my email, but then I’m even more freaked out when there is nothing there. Why haven’t we been emailed yet?!? In the past, decisions have come out as early as this week and notification emails were sent a week prior.

WashU was actually the first college I heard back from (waitlisted), which surprised me. I was expecting duke to come out a bit earlier for some reason.

I’m guessing decisions will be given out either Wednesday or Thursday of next week. In December, they sent us all an e-mail telling us when the decisions were going to be posted online 6 days ahead of time. I also checked last year’s and they were notified 5 days (the Friday beforehand) that decisions would be ready on that Wednesday.
The site let you sign in and took you to a page basically telling you to wait and then it automatically refreshed with the decision.

I see we have some other Texans here! I however, didn’t apply to any state schools. All 9 are on the East Coast ranging as far South as Duke to as far North as Harvard. All of these schools are also releasing their decisions in the next week, except I know for sure I will be accepted to some of them, and then have 5 reach schools. Hopefully I am accepted to one of my reach schools (I was deferred by Duke ED) but otherwise I’ll probably go to VaTech.
What do y’all want to major/doublemajor/minor in etc? - I’m going to study Stats and PoliSci

@cfl927 thanks for the info! Why do you not think they will come out next friday? Do you think ivies will come out that day?

^all Ivies come out on the the 29th at 5:00-5:30pm

Called duke’s financial aid office today and they said they heard that decisions were being released on the 29!

seeing as how april 1st is a sunday anyone guessing we’ll be notified this Friday that decisions come out next friday? Isn’t unlikely that they come out on a Sunday.

@collegeinfo1994, thanks. @minks7, great find! I thought duke usually comes out before the ivies though…
