I wanna circle back to addresses. who still has their address in the portal? i dont
I don’t think anyone does.
I feel like with ivy schools where you apply and you either do or don’t get an interview based on random factors, not having one can’t be held against you, but for Duke where you had to apply 10 days early I feel like it would have more of an effect and maybe not apply by Dec 20 would be held against someone, I dont know though.
I submitted Dec 24 and got an interview. I think it’s random
That really depends college to college. Some may place more value on interviews. But I personally do not think you are disadvantaged without an interview.
interviews are more to keep Alum connected to the school by giving them something to do and then donate $$.
And colleges mostly interview students they have questions about not obvious from written application - may be borderline applicants, etc. I would not worry too much if you didn’t get an interview.
I mean I didn’t have test scores to submit and I had an interview so maybe that makes us even lol
Yeah based on my experience it definitely seems random. I applied Jan 1 and I got an interview and I am definitely not one of the stronger applicants
Maybe it was random for after but I’m pretty sure they designated December 20th as a priority deadline and if you applied before that you were guaranteed one
This actually made me feel so much better thank you for sharing. Based on where everyone has gotten in so far we have all been admitted to amazing schools and regardless of whether or not we get into Duke we will still end up at amazing schools and be hugely successful. Good luck everyone!!!
I’m taking an economics test at 6 and will be out just in time to see the “regretfully” letter hahah
Duke if you’re listening ily, let me in <3
I applied by the December 20th deadline and was not offered an interview which is why I’m kind of freaking out, but it is what it is.
Oh yeah then I have absolutely no clue then. I’m sure they were happy to see you applied by the 20th and I hope for your sake thats all that matters. Guess we’ll see in a few hours. Not expecting much here, Good Luck!
Edit: What I mean to say is that I can’t imagine they would hold it against you if you applied by the 20th and didnt get it.
I really think you’re okay. The interview is an “additional materials” type of thing, you did not miss something required for your application. They take into account if you were not able to get an interview because of your location.
I shall be the first valedictorian at my school to not get into Duke . Setting the standards low for the next guys
Trying to accept that it’s probably a rejection given this strange year and the odds. But my heart wants her to get in as I’m a double alum.
U Mich Honors and Notre Dame and BC and a few others
Son got Notre Dame as well, Wake Forest, Villanova, Coast Guard Academy, TCU, and a bunch of safeties.
Daughter got into Wake Forest, waitlisted Vanderbilt, honors programs at a bunch of safeties.
how does the interviewing work in Duke. Do they rate it out of 5 or something? And does it help you?
