UCSD, Berkeley, and Georgia Tech
Maybe and maybe not. I didn’t get an interview for some of my acceptances
ucla, berkeley, chapel hill, uc irvine, rutgers, georgetown
i rly hope i get into duke but my interview was horrible lol
I hope it doesn’t mean anything, but I feel like if they were considering me I would at least get an interview because Duke is one of those schools that places a lot of value on interviews. I guess I will just have to wait a couple of hours to see.
UCSD, georgia tech, and BU are my favorite options so far. fingers crossed for duke!
CMU, UNC, and BC. I still have Duke and six ivies though (but I’m not really hopeful)
UNC, Berkeley, UCLA, U Mich Ross,
I feel the same. I might see you at BC then (if you end up going)
Do you mean an alumni interview or something else? Because an alumni interview is locational, so if there was no one in your area to offer you one then you don’t get one, I do not believe it means anything about you as an applicant.
Did u get UNC admit? Am currently waitlisted there.
I think they are just referencing that a Duke interview has more weight than interviews at other schools so not having one could feel like a gap in their app
Ayyy I also got into CMU. I got in for engineering.
Kind of random but I applied by the December 20 deadline, and I got an interview in March from someone in Chicago although I live in Los Angeles. Does that mean anything?
yeah but I’m in state, so I got into the business school and a scholarship
Yes, the alumni interview. I know that it is based on location, but I feel like with everything being virtual this year it would be different right? Like if they really were that interested in getting to know me as an applicant it would be extremely easy to set up a Zoom with an alumni from somewhere else. I know that Emory also offers alumni interviews based on location and I was not invited to interview, but was still accepted, so maybe I am reading too much into this.
UNC, UVA, Baylor, TCU, UF, UGA + some other state schools
I’m 99% sure I’m picking Baylor (got into their University Scholars program) so won’t be upset if I don’t get into Duke. Praying that you guys get in!!
UIUC, UW Madison, Rutgers, Syracuse, NJIT. Probably going to go to UW Madison so I won’t be to upset if I don’t get into Duke. Only two hours to go y’all, fingers crossed! We can do it!
Hi stressed wonderful waiting seniors:
I’m the mom of 2,alum college students (2 graduated) and one senior like you (who did not apply to Duke). I’m a college counselor so have students waiting.
Anyway, my first 2 sons did not get into their first choice colleges (one was WL at Duke - where his grandfather went so Very slight legacy hook). These 2 sons ended up at 2 and 3 choices and were Very happy w their college experience. One works for CBS news now in nyc. And one in Hollywood. So happy ending.
Re interviews. My 3rd son slept through his interview for his REA Ivy - had to sheepishly reschedule and still got in even though interviewer expressed much annoyance with him.
So the point of this post is that in a few weeks/months/years - the decision you get in a few hours from Duke will not matter as much as you think.
Stay calm and best of luck to everyone!
So if we didn’t get an interview are we at a disadvantage?
You shouldn’t be and trust me you’re not the only one that didn’t interview.
