No, it will not. That is handled by the financial aid office, which doesn’t even tell undergraduate admissions. Duke admits its students without considering financial circumstances; and it’s the same with the waitlist.

Referring to Bluedog’s post:

Are you sure about what you’ve just said? If you are, then I have equal chances with those international students who are not seeking financial aid? It doesn’t seem that realistic, considering that Duke does not have a need-blind admissions policy…

I thought that Duke is need-blind for US applicants but not for international applicants… correct me if I’m wrong though.

when do we need to make a decision?

Yes Funkyhamster, in my post, I forgot to add the “for international applicants” part. Since I am one of that group, I tend to forget to exclude myself from the US Citizens! :)

So is the waitlist over ?

Does anyone know how many were accepted off the waitlist?

the waitlist is not over yet! An admissions officer told me yesterday that it is still active

That’s good to hear! But do you know if they are taking a lot more off the list?

I think we’d never be able to know that.

@Alamo - The acceptance letter said that they wanted a reply within 2 weeks of the date that the letter was sent.

Hey yeah, I’m a biology major and I was accepted off of the waitlist as well today. I don’t know if I will be choosing Duke, because I have already committed to Northwestern, but I’m definitely going to consider it. I think I prove that the waitlist is still active haha.

Autrizzle, are you an international student? If yes, from which region/country? And, last but not least, have you applied for financial aid? Thanks in advance! ;)

why the hell haven’t they accepted me yet! I’m so desperate, all i can think about going to Duke!!!

I’m guessing they’re waiting for everyone that they pulled off the waitlist initially to respond. The letter came out either the 10th or the 11th for me, and it said that I had to two weeks to respond. Meaning that after the 24th/25th, they probably started looking at applications again or they filled their class.

S got off the Duke (Trinity) waitlist late last week. NY/NJ area.
Good luck all others waiting to get off the list!

I was accepted off the trinity waitlist today I’m from Hawaii.

Gahh…still on the list for Pratt(also Johns Hopkins and Washington St.Louis)…will they tell you if you were rejected?

Has anyone been taken off the waiting list in the last few days from the Florida region?

I heard that Washu is not taking anyone this year.Johns Hopkins wait list is also over.( sorry to break the bad news. ) Many of my classmates were on both lists. They all got letters from WashU.

Johns Hopkins web site indicated the same trend( took a few people couple of weeks ago & finished with that ).Johns Hopkins won’t send a rejection letter
