Does anyone know the size of Duke's waitlist this year?? Also, how deep did Duke go into their waitlist last year?

I heard Duke takes about 80 kids per year off a waitlist size of roughly 1000

Duke has started pulling from their waitlist - at least for Pratt. My son was called on Friday (4/27).

^Is he going to Duke now or sticking with his original choice?

I also got admitted off the waitlist on 4/27 into Pratt

Are you coming to Pratt then?

maybe

10char

How long does Duke give you to respond to an offer of admission from the waitlist?

Not sure yet, he’s waiting to hear about FA. You get about a week to decide.

I got a call today too and they’re pulling 50 students off the waitlist before May 1. Admitted into Trinity.

Are you considering Duke or sticking with your original favorite?

How did they inform you?

they called and then they emailed. formal admit pack will come in a couple of days

They called me. It really depends on financial aid - if they give me a better package than Dartmouth, I’ll have to consider it, but we’ll see! :)

They send an email to uncommitted admitted students this weekend that they had over 1400 students already enrolled. Thus, they will pull from the WL.

my uncommitted son did not receive an email this weekend.

What’s the target enrollment size??

“The Office of Undergraduate Admissions accepted 3,105 applicants, bringing the regular decision acceptance rate to 11 percent, the University announced Thursday. The students were selected from a pool of 28,909 regular decision applicants. Duke saw a total of 31,600 applicants across the early and regular decision cycles—6 percent more than last year. The target class size for the incoming freshman class is 1,705 students, with a projected yield rate of approximately 45 percent”

If they are looking to enroll 1700 students, and they’ve enrolled 1400 up to this point, is it plausible to expect roughly 200 to get off the waitlist?

Haha you forgot that most people commit on the last or second to last day
