Dumbledore is gay

LMFAO GoldShadow

I want to be a gay homeless wizard.

Who cares if he's gay. He can't find a partner at the age of uhh..how old is he?

and a silvery white patronus leaked out of Dumbledore's wand...

Hahaha. Magical innuendo.

Hmmmm...I wonder what it means...

but it's not an alternate universe on the level of Tolkien's or others' by any stretch of the imagination.

Basically every modern fantasy writer these days copies Tolkien, possibly elaborating slightly. There are a few notable exceptions, but I can't think of any right now.

that's because Tolkien PWNS

Umm, no.

Ooooh, buurrrrnn.

You're just saying that because you're jealous.

I guess. My 3rd grade teacher gave me The Hobbit, but I haven't touched it yet. Should I?

You should! The Hobbit's not as good as The Lord of the Rings, but it's more entertaining. I do know a lot of people who don't like the Hobbit who like the Lord of the Rings and vice versa, but nobody likes the Silmarillion.

I'll tell you why: Because the books would have sold nowhere as much as they did and she wouldn't have been as successful author.

So, according to you, the books that are currently being attacked by one of the biggest religions in the world wouldn't sell nearly as much because one of the characters is gay?

Having a gay character in HP would definitely have caused a ton of parents to prevent their children from reading it.

You're right, but don't you think that the parents who would do such a thing are also the parents who wouldn't allow their children to read the books because of the witchcraft?

There is some overlap, but there are definitely more parents who see nothing wrong with the "witchcraft" aspect than parents who wouldn't mind the idea of a gay character.

My mom likes listening to those republican radio guys. They were talking about Dumbledore. It was funny.

Good thing she announced it afterwards? :p

I will never consider Dumbeldore gay.

and yes, I think she was doing it to please the Gay Community... (and conveniently watied till the last book was out)...

oh geez, NotAmbidextrous

For what reason would JK Rowling need to "please" the gay community?

Last I checked there hasn't been a huge back-lash from the gay community on ANY level with the Harry Potter series.

You have no idea what you're talking about.

You'll never consider Dumbledore gay is because you yourself are probably uncomfortable with homosexuality in general. Grow up and get a clue. Gay people are everywhere, including in this universe that Rowling has created.

Who else can you believe about the Harry Potter world than the author herself?

I love it when new members bash CC regulars.

I think he (or she =P) has a good point. But I disagree, I don't think the author has any right to say things about the books. People should judge the words for themselves and then decide. If someone interprets the book in a way that Dumbledore isn't gay or is gay for that matter, it is their interpretation, JKR doesn't have a right to force her idea on others. She could say that it was her interpretation that Dumbledore is gay but that is just her opinion.

Totally, yak. Totally. Do you ever check out High School Life? A big forum of hilarity.
