It seems like the plazas have less communal facilities than the halls, so it wouldn’t be surprising if they end up taking up less space per room. Housing also gets to charge more for each room, which obviously helps them.

none of you noobs actually live in dykstra. i live here and i gotta say, i hate it. it’s one thing to think that dykstra’s good ‘because it’s social’ and whatnot, but i feel the ONLY good part about dykstra is that it’s the closest dorm to campus. the bathrooms suck -people jizz in the showers, **** on the toilets, throw up on the floors near the sink and in the halls etc. dykstra is full of freshman who make up the majority of the people who flunk out of college- all my floormates do is party, drink, do weed, and get laid; it is hard to find smart people in dykstra, all my study buddies live elsewhere. that’s the ‘social’ factor of dykstra- from my personal experience here, i have no real friends in dykstra.

as for going back to dykstra a second year/dykstra being super popular, i don’t know what kind of idiot thinks that, but i guess if you don’t have friends it would be suitable for you… during housing signups dykstra was the LAST hall to be filled up. everyone went for sproul and reiber.

like everyone says, it can’t get worse than dykstra. i was fine with dykstra for about 1.5 quarters, but as time goes by you realize how crappy dykstra really is and how much you’d prefer sproul instead. put another way, you SHOULD be worried about getting dykstra as your dorm.

^Erm… I had Dykstra my freshman year so I am speaking based off of my experience and what I heard from other people…

I have also heard similar stories to yours about a floor in Sproul. So, I guess it just depends on who ends up on our floor.

wow, SOMEONE’S a little harsh.
yeah, everyone’s experience is different depending on the floor.
when I lived in Dykstra, very very few people from my floor partied. I had to find my party buddies elsewhere.
Everyone on my floor was really normal and we were all good friends with each other. It was by far more fun than living in Sproul this year, where I know my friends from freshman year + maybe like 5 other people.
