doubel post

but why would they waste there seeing if someone is qualified for FAFSA out of soo many applications, especially if its so close to admissions day
but yes, hopefully its only for SOME people who got accepted…
when you try to apply for a CALNet ID, does it work for everyone? or does it say something like application is not valid and won’t let you create one. i actually tried to create one cus i was desperate, lol it didn’t work of course :(

@pigsyy
all i’m trying to say is that only people with incomplete financial aid reports received the email. the people didn’t get one have all the needed documents already so no email is necessary.

just relax since you have no control over the decision. as long as you have some type of backup plan if you don’t get accepted into berkeley, you’ll be fine

@kjeon23 . thanks , i will force myself to calm down now loll.

I got no such email before I was admitted last year. I looked back just now. I had nothing at all from Berk finaid. Of course, I didnt apply for finaid… Anyhow, I would tend to say those that got the email should feel happy, and those that didnt should not take it as a bad omen, especially considering there is nothing you will be able to do about a rejection.

My UCLA needed the same FA verification like my UCSD; so, if UCB didn’t ask for it then that means I am out I missed one requirement course when filling in myberkeley application This email notification is indeed a VERY good sign to everyone who received it. :)

I will report back and see if these theories come true!

If you didn’t apply for FA theres pretty much no chance of getting this email right?

@corinne
i believe your assessment is correct

Then I guess I shouldn’t be feeling bad about not getting it.

@corinne
not at all…i got the email and i’m still worried about getting in or not…lol

OK…go to your Berkeley App
Make sure you are logged out
Down at the bottom click on “login w/Calnet ID”
USE YOUR APP # as your NetID and then your password from your UCB app as your ‘passphrase’
Then…hit enter…the pop-up says "you are now required to choose a self-selected CALNET ID before continuing, click ok to login to the “change CALNET ID app.”…I got the pop-up, does anybody else?
p.s. if you put the wrong id you won’t get the popup if you put the wrong password you will get the pop-up…try putting all the correct stuff in and see what happens…I am still not able to create one but it is exciting that we can get this far!!!

I didn’t get the Finaid email but I get the same pop-up that you get Kelli. I don’t believe this means anything though.

We didn’t get any email last year because this year someone in the FA office let this one “leak.” The office was super busy after two this afternoon because Transfer students were calling. Someone is going to get a longgg talk.

I wouldn’t worry for those of you who didn’t get the email, that just means that your file is complete.

I would say it is a good sign for those of you who did get it!

So please stop worrying and saying all hope is lost because there are people with great stats here that didn’t get the email (coughcough). Good luck to you all. Two more days, hang in there! Hope this helped calm you!

sakurax, thank you for the reassurance.

Sakurax…are you an angel?

i might call the financial aid office and pose this question to see if they give any clues in their response:

“Would you guys send out an email notifying a transfer applicant that their financial aid record is incomplete and to log in to calnet too see the document if they aren’t accepted?”

I <3 my unnies! ^__^;;

^
Can’t wait to see you this weekend finally! <3

To Evan: I don’t think it’s right for other people to make the assumption that just because you didn’t recieve the email, you’re not getting in, that’s ridiculous.

You’re welcome Jane!

kjeon23: Ater this afternoon, I think they will most likely try to keep off that topic, as in, go around the question…and tell you to wait until Friday.

@sakura
ok…i will wait until friday for my decision then. do you work in the financial aid office?
