E-Mail From UC Berkeley Financial Aid

@Sak

So if we didn’t apply for financial aid we wouldn’t receive this e-mail either way, correct?

(Seriously though, you really are hooking this board up, lol)

^
If you didn’t apply for FA, then of course you won’t get the mail, haha. You’re welcome?

kjeon23:
No, I work in Admissions, but I was walking by the FA office (my roomie works there) and lets just say she didn’t get out for lunch. :/

@kjeon - I asked almost exactly that and the woman essentially said “I don’t see why you would get the email if you weren’t accepted, no.”

Of course, this only heightens my anxiety.

Hahaha. oops. double!

I am anxious for Emil’s decision though! I want to know he got in!

kjeon23: Nah, don’t worry! A bunch of people got the email and someone was bound to post it on here, don’t worry! I will definitely let her know!

Editx2: Yunie showed me her packet, it’s niiicee, haha.

@sakura
sorry to hear that…i started this thread around 2 after getting the email so maybe i’m to blame? lol

tell your roomie sorry and that i’ll buy her lunch if i get accepted.

Oh, and expect to be buying lunch for two…maybe three, ps-i hate this editing thing, ha.

I’ll be going now, I just really wanted to let you guys know the 411. Be patient! Almost there! I mean, you guys waited all of this time, what’s two more days?! Good luck! I’ll be on Friday again! Off to work!

@sakura
i’ll be ready to buy lunch for them if i get in…thanks for the info…it really helps to have an insider post on here rather than having a bunch of people speculate…have a great day at work!

@Sakurax- I was thanking you, just like Jane… I hope my post didn’t come off any other way :(

sorry but im late to the party. if this was already discussed then my bad. but i clicked the link in the email and i need a Calnet id. how do i obtain one?

you don’t. The only people who have them are those signed up for summer school. You have to wait till friday.

I don’t think she meant it towards you Evan! I’ll still text her, keke.^^

sakurax is the coolest. It so great to have someone working in admissions here. And she is so nice and helpful :)

what kind of paperwork are they even talking about? the only thing we had to do was the FAFSA, correct?

^
Sometimes they might need dependent verification, others needed proof of Citizenship, etc, it varies.

I’m wondering if the people who got these emails were selected for FAFSA verification. To find out if you were, go to [FAFSA - Free Application for Federal Student Aid](http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/FOTWWebApp/follow003.jsp)

Log in, click next a few times, and eventually you’ll get a link on the left side of the page that says SAR comments. Click that, and if you were selected you should see this:

“Your FAFSA has been selected for a review process called verification. Your
school has the authority to request copies of certain financial documents from
you (and your spouse).”

I was selected for verification, but I didn’t get the email, so I think I’m rejected.

Sakurax, what is your major? I was looking through posts from last year and I can’t find your acceptance post!

^
She went to work, she’s majoring in Psychology. Her acceptance was complicated.

@minute
That’s interesting. These past two years I’ve been “selected for verification” since my EFC is 0, but this year, nothing. Which would explain why UCLA said they didn’t need anything from me. :/

@ Minute- I was selected for Verification @ UCSD, but not UCLA or UCSB, and I was accepted to all 3 schools… I wouldn’t jump to any conclusions yet.

And where is Emil?? I can’t believe he is missing out on all of this!

@Yunie, cool thanks for the reply!
