E-Mails from the School..

there pretty specific on the website.
theyll either say "mailed out on march 10" or Notified by march 10

I was sent an e-mail from an admissions officer that said they were "very impressed" with my application.

Dazzlezzz: Lucky! What school?

It was Deerfield. Gah! I'm so excited!

I know, me too! My screen just turned white. It's so random and weird.

Dazzlezzz, just wondering, what was the purpose of the email? They didn't write solely to say they were very impressed with your application, did they? Were they asking for additional information, or answering a question you posed to them?

they just wasted to trll me they were impressed, and to ask if I had any questions. Why?

oh, that's cool. I was just wondering. I haven't heard of a school sending an email so close to the march 10th date. I know I received hand written notes after I interviewed, telling me they enjoyed meeting me, were impressed, and some schools said, hope to see you in the fall. But, I haven't heard anything from the schools since then, and it doesn't seem like most people have. Your application must be really great! Good luck then. Sounds very positive.

thanks!
good luck to you too!

Can you share your profile with everybody ?

dazzle, was your email from an admissions officer or someone else from Deerfield? I got one too

realy?
what did yours say?
I think it was an officer, but I will tripple check for you.
;)

I'm a bit nervous now!
In my application, I said that I'd be interested in playing volleyball and clarinet at the school.
I never got an e-mail or letter from a coach or band teacher.
Is that a bad sign?

Regarding the mail dates vs. receive dates of the letters:
Even the schools who's sites say "March 10: Decisions mailed" It may not be the case as I have called around to a few of the schools we applied to and it was a mixed bag. One that said that decisions would be mailed ON 3/10 told me they were mailin on Friday 3/8. Another that said "Candidates notified ON March 10" told me they had not yet decided if they were mailing on Friday or Monday.

jumpstartzoe - I think it varies from department to department and sport to sport if they send a letter / email during admissions and when. One school sent a letter from everything we checked as an "interest" in the inquiry form shortly after the view book was sent. My son got about 8 letters from them.

Just curious Dazzlezzz and al612 - when did you get those emails from Deerfield?

I didn't get any emails from Deerfield. :( Is that bad?

Gosh, I received an email too. It's pasted below. I can't wait until March 10th!

Dear Hayseed,

CONGRATULATIONS!!! You are the coolest guy ever and WE WANT YOU at Deerfield. Never has our admissions team met a student so special. Since you are the smartest and most qualified applicant in the history of Deerfield, we have decided to waive the costs of your tuition. More information about your scholarship will be included in the official decision package that you will recieve from us on March 10th (we think you'll be happy - hint - the scholarship includes, among other surprises, a Brooks Brothers credit card!).

Sincerely.

J. Alexander Thorpe, VII
Admissions Committee

Hay Seed = Troll. Don't Respond.

Oh come on, Hay Seed has a good sense of humor; just what we need here. It has been tedious reading posts written by anxiety-ridden teens. We all need to laugh at ourselves once in a while to make it through to the 10th.

I agree...Hayseed's post is all in good fun and a good tension diffuser.

I got one last Saturday
