Ummmm, since I'm a bit of a loser, I went on that UChicago site where admitted students can communicate with each other and I added up the number of students accepted from each region. I calculated that 1647/5885 (or 28%) of applicants were admitted. I'm fortunate enough to be 1 of 173 accepted from New York :)

Hahaha, me too! (Go NY!)

28% wow, that’s fairly high… right?

I’m in NY too!
What part? I’m from WNY.
p.s. where did you get those numbers? I can’t find them.

Thanks for making me feel worse.

What was the total applicants accepted from New Jersey?

Wow, 1647!! Only 1146 or something like that were admitted last year. Nondorf is really taking this a different direction. It will be interesting to see what he does with the financial aid packages.

I second @motion12345. I want to throw up, actually.

No wonder the committee deferred so many.

ahhhhhhhhhh. I feel bad too wej and motion.

Yea this just makes me feel even worse. Like now I feel like I have no chance at any school with an acceptance lower than 20.

Wildcat343 I believe the EA admissions rate last year was 33%. A greater number of students were accepted, but a lower percentage was admitted.

I’m from Long Island, HonorsCentaur. To get to the numbers, go to the “Connect” site thingy from your account homepage, click “Mark Your Spot,” then click any region and it’ll tell you how many admitted student profiles were created/need to be created from that area.

And brabble, if I’m correct, 121 students were accepted from New Jersey.

How many from Pennsylvania (Western PA…if you can be that specific).

Thanks Robespierre

You’re welcome. And there are 71 from Pennsylvania.

How about CA?

Anyways, that’s interesting that they admitted so many more Early Action.

I saw someone earlier on the boards speculating that they might do this. Because EA has a much higher yield, they will probably admit a lot fewer through RD and hence drop their acceptance rate significantly.

I guess their taking this strategy.

Does anybody know how to do the calculations for what the overall acceptance rate might be? Does anybody have any idea about the amount of RD applicants?

There are 129 students admitted from CA.

I have a really hard time believing they admitted as many as 1,647. That’s probably almost half of the admissions they plan to make, and would guarantee an RD acceptance rate in the 12% range.

^That’s what I was thinking when I first saw this, and it’s scaring me **itless.

Any chance you know how many students were admitted from Nebraska?

There are 6 admits from Nebraska
