EA and ED

Hi, with regard to applying EA and ED, I know EA is generally unresticted and ED is restricted, but what about applying to an EA (such as yale) and an ED (such as penn,) and then withdrawing your app from the EA if you are accepted to the ED?
is this permitted or would both schools reject your application/rescind your acceptance if they discovered that this was done?

if anyone has any links to specific info for yale and penn, that would be much appreciated

(for whoever is going to ask why, it matters because i am a junior)

also how do ED schools (still think penn) feel about other non-binding early applications (such as rolling at michigan or something,) again if you would be willing to withdraw your michigan application upon acceptance to penn

Harvard & Yale both have single choice early action which means you cannot apply ED to another school while applying EA to Yale or Harvard. Applying ED to Yale at the same time as applying ED to Penn would get you rejected from both schools because you would be in violation of their IVy Leage common statement (or joint statement). I beleive you are however permitted to apply to rolling admission schools.

thank you (10 chars)

If you apply ED, you can still apply to all schools EXCEPT other ED schools and single-choice early action schools. You must withdraw all other applications if accepted ED.
