EA Applicant Decision

I got my decision- deferred. Yeah, 2nd school I was deferred from. Anyone else?

I was deferred too. I'm super disappointed. Does anyone know the percentage of those deferred that get accepted??

i got deferred too! I was kind of surprised actually....

Liz, I dont know the percentage, but yeah i'm disappointed too. i already got deferred from northeastern so this just adds another deferral. what schools are on the tops of everyone's lists?

I got in! :)

@qwertika
Congrats!! can you pls post ur stats??
@others
is the ea round really tough to get in or what?

I was really surprised that I got deferred and it kind of completely shot my confidence since my top choices are Brown, Vassar, or Tufts. Now, I just feel lucky that I'm in love with my safeties. I, too, would be interested to know the stats of those that got in. Congratulations Qwerkita!!

were you applying for finaid, Dickinson is "need aware"

Thanx for the congragulations (i dont rly kno how to post stats but here goes) and even if u got deferred from Dickinson, im sure u guys r amazing and r going to be accepted at great schools.
SAT: 2100
ACT: 29
GPA: 3.9
Recs? I dont get to read them
Essay: Well, my counselor said it made her crack up so i think its good

Those are gr8 stats!! did you apply for fin aid??

Hmmm my basic stats were
SAT: 2140
ACT: 32
GPA: 4.2 (weighted)
Recs: One was beyond amazing, the other I have no idea
Essay: My common app one was pretty abstract/creative, which is the only way I know how to describe it, so maybe the problem was there?? My supplementary essay, I thought was good, but no one else read it so...

I did apply for financial aid though, and I wish I hadn't, at least for Dickinson because we really weren't expecting anything anyway. Hopefully I (and everyone else deferred) will have better luck for regular decision.

Well, I am not at all familiar with the US admissions process, so I have no idea what to say. But, I am real scared about my own chances.

I was accepted too and I am a John Dickinson Scholar. I am so excited! This is the first letter I've received!

I also got in as a John Dickinson Scholar!
These are my basic stats:
SAT: 2320
SAT IIs: 710; 770; 780; 800
GPA: 3.56/4.0
ECs: founded 2 clubs, competitive ballroom dancer, exchange student, part-time job, theatre, voice lessons, did an independent research project, had an internship, helped run a soup kitchen, etc.

I'm thinking it's the SATs and ECs that did it for me...

I got in, but my SAT's and grades are nowhere close to any of the other people who posted here.
SAT's: 640 650 650
GPA: 3.2

Maybe this is what holistic admissions is all about.

I got in. I loved Dickinson so I'm very happy :)
SAT: 2020
ACT: 30
GPA: 4.0/4.62
Essay: wrote it about how i'm going to cure childhood cancer.. haha

Liz44- you have amazing stats, im so surprised you got deferred

Congrats!! :)

@neethu16: You are applying to Dickinson EA, EDII or RD?

ED II! What about you??
