EA Chance?

<p>I thought I had this whole college thing in the bag until I was deferred from Tulane. Now? I’m not so sure. I’d really appreciate someone giving me my chances of getting into Boston College. I’ve also applied to Notre Dame.</p>

<li>African-American, Female, Chicago</li>
<li>Top 15% of graduating class of 870+ (not sure of GPA)</li>
<li>35 ACT Comp., 11 Writing</li>
<li>4 & 5 on APs (APUSH and English Language, respectively)</li>
<li>Currently taking all APs (Psychology, College English, French, Environmental Science, BC) with dual enrollment at local college</li>
</ul>

<p>Extracurriculars include:

  • 4 service awards for 100+ community service hours
  • President of French Club
  • Senior Writer for school newspaper
  • President of (a local chapter) teen social service organization
  • 12 year Girl Scout w/ Gold Award
  • President of (Catholic) church youth group </p>

<p>I have seen some strange things in the couple of years our kids have been through the college app process, and your deferral from Tulane with the stats you have is high on the list of perplexing stories. I hope you get into BC, good luck. One of my children is there and absolutely loves it.</p>
