I keep seeing people on here with great stats getting deferred and it’s really worrying me. I applied EA and was hoping to get into the Honors Program but now I’m wondering if it’s a possibility I won’t get into OSU at all.
I’m OOS
3.9 GPA uw (school doesn’t weight)
18/428 = 4.2% class rank (again uw. I called admissions and they said they would take it into consideration but no specifics.)
ACT 32
SAT 2110/2400 on highest composite but my highest combined was on a 1980/2400 test with 1370/1600
5 APs taken and passed: English and Comp (3), Government (4), psychology (5), Calc AB (4), APUSH (4)
7 APs this year: Computer Science, Chem, Bio, Stats, Lit, Physics C: Mechanics, Comparative Government
No sports but plenty of other ECs with leadership positions and volunteering. Applied to Arts and Sciences for Biology. What do you think my chances are? For Honors? Is there any order to the decisions being released? I applied 10/31 but there are loads of people here who applied as late as I did and received a decision in the first round.

Based on the stats you posted there is no reason you should not get into OSU and I think you have a good shot at honors as well. OSU is getting more competitive each year but I would be shocked if 3.9 and 32 ACT doesn’t get admitted. I think they are just being careful not to over admit. As people start receiving ED acceptances and turning down OSU offers more spaces will open up. Good luck.
