I got deferred. I am very confused because i was kind of using UGA as a safety. I have a 34 Act and 3.87 GPA. I have taken five ap classes, which is around the most at my school. No students take more than seven. I am out of state. However, i didn’t email my rep at all. I didn’t think that UGA tracked interest. Can anyone give me any insight as to why i was deferred?
UGA stacks scholarships, so yes you can combine.
@torptyrety I think your GPA has hurt you. Sometimes for OOS students admissions don’t have a lot of info about your HS. A 3.87 GPA may be fabulous for your particular school, but the GPA for EA was 4.11.
I am sure you are disappointed, write some good essays and I am confident you will be admitted in the spring.

Congrats to those accepted!! If you are deferred, you are not out of the game yet. You can get your part 2 ready for regular decision.
@torptyrety , tell us more. I dont think ur scores or the fact that ur oos or that u didn’t email a rep is the reason why u got deferred.

Now uga does defer overqualifying students, especially because they know that u have a good chance of getting into a better school and they evaluate the chance of u attending uga. They probably saw that u attending uga was slim chance. Now if this is the case, then u will definitely get into uga regular process because u r showing them that u r serious about attending uga.
