@Snowman66 when did your daughter find out? We are still waiting…
Sorry I should have clarified - she was early decision.
DS admitted Friday. $31k merit.
EA applicant
He didn’t get any email he just happened to be in the portal and it showed that there was a status update.
Congrats @TytoAlba! My DS checked his portal tonight and was also admitted EA with merit of $32k. It was his first acceptance - so excited to get that first one! Whew! Hope everyone else hears great news soon.
Congrats to both of your sons!!
Still nothing here. I agree it’ll be such a relief to finally get a “yes”! Hopefully not much longer.
Just checked my son’s portal and nothing! Wondering if there is a rhyme or reason to the dribble of acceptances. My son didn’t submit until 10/31 because he was finishing the essay for the scholarship that was due 11/1.
@Kona2012 I really think it’s b/c our kids are up for the College Scholar. If you look back on last year’s post. CS recipients didn’t find out until later. Or maybe not & I’m just grasping… LOL
@ChaosParent23 I was going to ask you if you thought that might be why… believe me that went through my head and I dismissed it… Fingers crossed for them!
It wouldn’t surprise me if that’s the case since I believe they go thru a second round of readers.
My kid isn’t freaking out…yet. He’s got alot on his plate right now & just doesn’t have the capacity. He’s letting me be the Nervous Nelly for him!
That very well could be it. My kid didn’t apply for the CS in this first round. He may still submit that application. I think you can still submit up to 1/15. Hope you hear soon!
My son was contacted personally and told to apply for college scholar. He also applied for a music scholarship, and he did not apply to Wooster until the last day possible. He received his notice and scholarship on Friday.
He has not completed his college scholar essay.
I don’t believe CS has anything to do with it.
@TytoAlba your son received the college scholar scholarship without completing the additional application and essay? The deadline to hear about that scholarship by 12/31 was 11/1. My son submitted both on 10/31. I know there was a second round for that scholarship with a due date in January.
@TytoAlba maybe your son received a different scholarship? I’m not sure how he could get the college scholar award without submitting the essay. I still haven’t heard back yet either and I believe it does have to do with the College Scholar Award.
Also my admissions counselor told me most decisions should be out by December 21st when Wooster breaks for the semester
He has yet to submit however whereas ours have. If your S does receive the CS they’ll adjust his FA accordingly later on. Like I’ve said before- COW admin/faculty/staff are wonderful people as a whole. They’re getting decisions out as soon as they can, which I think is great! I’m genuinely thrilled for anyone who has already heard & I think they’ll love the school if they choose to attend.
Sorry to confuse you: he received a $31k scholarship. This was not the college scholar award but some other award. I believe the college scholar award is 34,000 so it’s only an additional three. You won’t get BOTH.
My point was that he was contacted recently to apply for the college scholar program and the deadline hasn’t even arrived so I don’t think being in the running or not made a difference as to whether or not you heard back already. It’s not like they were waiting for him to apply for the college scholar award before they offered him admission.
Just looked at last years posts and it shows that kids who applied EA and for the college scholar award didn’t hear back until around the 21st. So I absolutely think that the trend is holding the same for this year for the applicants who turned it in by the first deadline 11/1. Furthermore everyone who has heard so far has not mentioned this award.
Our D was been accepted with merit of $31K. We are OOS. She has a 3.6uw/ 3…9 weighted GPA and 35 ACT.
Congrats @Corinthian !!!
Congratulations to those who have heard! Fingers crossed for those still waiting!
