i'm thinkin 15th?

You guys are freaking out, too?!

I'm getting so impatient...

I spoke to the Admissions Office and they said all letters would be mailed out at one time on December 14, which would be....TODAY!

I empathize with all of you going crazy. My son, meanwhile, who is the one applying, appears quite calm...

Scratch the last post... I was told by e-mail a week or so ago that the letters would go out in the mail on the 14th, which would be today. I just called admissions, however, and they said they are looking at getting the letters out either Friday or Monday. If they meet their own deadline, it looks like Midwesterners should hear by Tuesday or Wednesday of next week--those further out might be cracking chestnuts with their knuckles!

noooooooooooooooooooooooooo

wow, that just sucks..i wonder if way more people applied this year or something?

noo, i'm going to be leaving the country for two weeks on the 16th, and our mail will be stopped, would there be anyway for me to find out online or something?

will it really be another week?

ANyone else feeling betrayed by ND? I mean really everywhere else is getting there stuff back!

dc, I'm not positive about this but I think after you hear that letters have been mailed, you may be able to call the admissions office, explain your situation and find out if you were accepted. You will more than likely hear that letters have been sent out on this board. Kids who live close to ND will get their letters first and will start posting the results. Last year, they did not post anything online. A phone call is worth a try at any rate. Keep the faith! :)

mandorf, don't feel betrayed. Last year, it was the same thing. Kids who applied EA heard later than kids who applied at other schools. No one knows what is going on in the admissions office but you can be sure there is a reason. I do remember that letters were sent before the admissions office acknowledged that the letters were indeed sent. It's hard to wait but good things are always worth the wait. It's easy for me to say that but I do understand what you are going through. Try not to get angry or frustrated. It will come!

haha it's been hard enough to wait until the 15th...i need to go on a vacation

I'm in a way grateful for the delay; knowing that they come next week will let me focus on finals. Still a little anxious to hear back, though. I'm afraid, too. Oh boy, aren't I a melting pot of emotions?

Catch this... I have my semester exams AFTER Christmas break. UGH. Which means I have all break to revel in studying the excitement that constitutes calculus and AP physics. I'm being sarcastic, of course. Sure, I'm disappointed we can't have our decisions right now, but I think I can manage the wait. I just wish they did the decisions online like a lot of the ED schools do. Oh well. Time to translate some Latin poetry. Ergh. I'll definitely be glad to stop taking Latin in college.

My prayers are with all of you kids on the forum waiting to hear what your fate will be. I'm much more stressed out about it with my son applying than 24 years ago, when I was awaiting my own letter. Then again, I hadn't even thought about where I'd apply to college until someone said to me, "hey, you're a senior--aren't you applying anywhere?" So I applied to a few, including Notre Dame, and, much to my surprise, got in. Those were in the days when people took the ACT one time, and you had to wait for snail mail to get responses to anything... We were oblivious--and had some really goofy looking fashions to boot! :)

I'll tell you one thing, you kids these days are far from being the slacker generation--you have your acts together infinitely more than my generation did. I admire all of you, and wish you the very best!

Happy waiting! (Or is that an oxymoron?)

Hehe, thanks a lot ddjones007! I hope to be a classmate of your son's in the coming fall! Best wishes to you/your son and everyone else on this board.

I can't wait to find out. I got into BC but I don't know how good my chances are at ND.

Hey all-

I also applied EA... anxiously waiting. The St. Mary's girls got their letters already this week...not sure if that's a sign we should be getting ours soon... (I already understand the dislike for St. Mary's that apparently is harbored by ND students... she's all excited to go to "St. Mary's College at Notre Dame" and being able to take classes at ND, etc. etc.).

I called the admissions office last friday... they said they were sending out the letters "mid to late next week"... do you think we'll know this weekend then?

Good luck all!!

Ugh, this is driving me nuts. It seems like everyone I know has gotten replies from their schools but me.
