has anyone called the office in the last couple days?

I just called the office at about 11 a.m. CST. The woman who answered the phone said that, yes, the letters have already been sent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Which could be a good thing or a bad thing... I have no guts for this :()

Sensing an opening, I tried to press my luck and ask what day, precisely, they had been mailed out. The receptionist said she didn't know (as Monk Malloy didn't know they were firing Ty Willingham?). In any case, they are in the hands of God and the US Postal Service at this very moment, as I try to calculate shipping distances and estimated times of arrival.

Considering that, only two days ago, whomever answered the phone said they wouldn't be out until Friday or Monday of next week, this is relatively good news (again, depending on if the letter is a big white one, or the dreaded smaller version).
A week or so ago, I spoke to the legacy guy, who has to take the calls from neurotic alumni (as opposed to the neurotic general population), and he said they go out the 14th, and seemed pretty certain about it.

All I know is that this is really eating me up a lot more than I'd ever have guessed it would. I feel this site is a godsend of support.

All of us posting our kids stats online and looking for an admissions opinion from our fellow nervous parents may not be doing ourselves any good as far as increasing our kids' chances of admission, but, by golly, it helps our peace of mind!

If they sent out the 14th i should hear today. I'll let ya'll know when my mail gets here.

no letter here in todays mail.. it sure would be a nice treat to get it tomorrow on my birthday

oh yeah almost forgot.. nd's website has the admitted student login page working now.. so i assume the letters are comin soon

Has anyone heard yet? Anyone in Indiana, maybe? Is this nerve-wracking or what?

We live in Indiana and my daughter DID NOT get a letter today. We are, however, as far away in Indiana as you can possibly get from South Bend, so it's possible people in Northern Indiana, Ohio or Illinois may have received something.

I've been thinking they'll probably come tomorrow... now I'm almost positive they will (to me, anyways, I'm in Missouri) since the admitted students site is up.

ahhhhh... i'm going to wait by my mailbox tomorrow!

and now i have to go study for a bio exam! gr.

kiks- I'm from Colorado. I recieved niether, actually. My counselor called the admissions officer. I finished my Physics final, look over my shoulder, and he's standing there. He says, "Turn in your test. Time is up. Oh yeah, you know those other applications you said you'd turn in tomorrow? Looks like you won't have to do those."

LimKid66- where are you from? does Notre Dame send emails out to everyone?

By the way, Congrats to all that have heard already!

if you call the admissions office and ask for your decision, do you think they will tell you?

please accepted ones, post your stats

Kiks164,

I think they only send the emails to kids living abroad. I live by uskidabroad, sort of.
