No email. Letters only

Live in South Florida, and nothing yet. Guess Monday it is.

I was expecting it, honestly. Applied to SFS.

Like I said, I was expecting it. Georgetown had been my top choice for a really long time, then I did a program there this summer and it just… changed my opinion of it. Oh, well. I think my math SAT score did me in, what with them not looking at writing. I’m anxiously awaiting Michigan EA decisions now. Good luck to all my fellow deferred candidates and congrats to everyone who was accepted!!

@sincerelyms I live in LA too. I was able to get an interview in Las Vegas because I used to live there. What school do you go to?

@cookie16 – thanks for answering. I feel like Georgetown’s the only school left who still only does snail mail, and it’s making me nervous! Good luck to everyone else who hasn’t heard!

Your test scores and GPA look fine.

Have your guidance counselor contact Georgetown. Ask the admissions office the reason you were deferred. Sometimes they will tell you what they think you can do to make your application stronger. Maybe they didn’t think you were really interested in Georgetown or you did not answer one of the essay prompts they way they thought you should have.

If you find out what they think is lacking in your application, you can send them a letter or supplementary materials to address that issue. You will be a stronger candidate for RD.

I have seen supplementary materials help other candidates get into top schools after they were deferred, EA or ED, so give it your best shot.

@natvod, I live near East Los Angeles. But if the closest contact is in Las Vegas, that makes sense.

Deferred as expected.
ACT: 31

Honors Courses: 16
Recommendations: One counselor (New Counselor. My counselor since 8th grade retired last year), English teacher (I thought it was fantastic), and principal (she has been my neighbor since I was 8).
Essays: The first one was abstract and unorthodox because I wanted it to characterize my writing style and how that writing style was a direct parallel to me. My second one… I’m not proud of.

It’s hard to stay positive for RD, but I’m trying. I plan to write a letter to Georgetown about my new blog, Solo and Ensemble, and my SATs. Does anyone know if we are allowed to rewrite an essay? Also, is it acceptable to get another recommendation?

@sincerelyms I had a interview in Santa Monica relatively early in the school year, august or so I think

@denboi486 It seems kinda fishy why they would say that there’s no one in my area… Santa Monica isn’t far from Los Angeles. Thanks for the info, I’ll try contacting the office again and see if I could get an interview for RD :)

Accepted to the College!
I’m from Ohio and I got my letter today. As everyone else has said, if it is an acceptance, it has three pieces of paper, one of them blue.
