Oh my goodness, the waiting is really getting to me now. Especially after Dartmouth and Columbia’s decisions today, I just want to know!

But the worst part is, I’m feeling increasingly hopeless about this now. I dunno, I’m just expecting a rejection now I don’t know how I’m going to handle waiting until April for RD decisions, ack!!

^oh my goodness, that would be awesome! I’d reallly, really like it if decisions came out on the 14th, but it looks like the earliest potential day now is the 15th.

Looks like we might be finding out the date on Monday though. A definite date would be very very very nice to have :)

What are you guys doing to pass the time? I’ve got one more week of school left here, then going home for the holidays.

In the past five years of releasing decisions online, EA decisions were released sometime between December 15-17. Thus the dates on which MIT released the decision date has been between December 10-12 (it’s almost always 5 days before release date).

You can expect that date to be released next week, with decisions either next weekend or early the following week.

MIT has hundreds more applicants each year, so they do an incredible and efficient job with a quick turnaround on EA decisions.

My current guess (and hope) is:
Announcement on 10th.
Release on 15th.

If not that, then:
Announcement on 12th.
Release on 17th.

Anyone got any games or something to liven up this thread? I need help to get through this last bit of waiting! This thread is so dead compared to most on CC :/

That is the typical regular decision release date (MIT loves Pi, of course). We’ve been discussing the release date for early action applicants.

There are several differences between Caltech and MIT on a whole host of levels. As it relates to the admissions process, the biggest difference is around the total number of applications received. Last year, MIT received over 6K EA applications. That number surpasses the total number of applications received by Caltech. I hope that helps a little bit as to your question about admission process differences.

well, today’s finally here. Decision Date Day? I guess we’ll see :S I just want to know already!!

but I’m almost sure I’m going to be rejected. I’ve gone full circle since Nov. 1; then, I was almost scarily sure that I was going to get in. argh :/

I’ve been looking at some of the assignments for the GIRs and such though that I found posted online, and they all look scary hard…pretty sure MIT is not really the place for me after all.

Oh gosh, government exam and MIT decision on the same day? It really will be the end of the world! Haha, I really hope we find out saturday, I am starting to lose it with the anticipation. :P

@molliebatmit : Do you know if they are in selection committee yet at least?
