EA Financial Aid is Posted

Yep, @jnkam24, my D got hers, too.

She had just checked online a couple days ago and had nothing but got a mailed packet today. It combined a Loyola scholarship with a pretty sizable grant too. Might be doable.

FYI, my D was admitted EA (we were surprised be no merit then) and filed the CSS with estimates Nov. 30.

Il be curious to see of merit goes up or grant aid changes when FAFSA and CSS final numbers are taken into account.

I think merit will stay the same but grant may change. I’m expecting my grant will go down since my parents made more this year. Even if not, at $44,000 out of pocket, $12,500 Loyola and $7000 grant, I will not be going.

@jnkam24 sorry to hear that. Our estimates were off by a bit so I’m curious to see where final grant lands.

Our “offer” was double what our fafsa EFC was. I have a daughter who is currently a sophomore at georgetown and I feel as though that second tuition bill was not factored in at all. I will reach out to the FA office to question / appeal.

They increased my Dean’s scholarship by a lot and the grant I got makes Fordham just affordable for me. I’m pretty excited but I hope to appeal if I get better offers from other schools.

I’m a bit confused… I got my letter today, submitted Fafsa and css last week. Is the “scholarship/grant” all merit money, or is that my whole financial aid package? In other words, will we be getting more need based money when the financial aid package is sent out in March/April? Or is this it

The scholarship/grant aid is all the institutional gift aid you will be getting. If you qualify for federal aid, you will get that too. If not, that’s all you get. Shocking, isn’t it?

We received our award letter in the snail mail earlier this week.
