EA Mailings begin for Class of 2014

Yep, the first Early Action results from EA rounds 1/2/3 have been sent and are in the mail.

Although the majority of EA results will not be mailed until 12/15, you can officially start stalking the mailman.

Good to know, thanks! How many people applied Early Action? (if you’re allowed to say)

Per Objee: 960 Early Action applicants for approx 170 Early Action appointments.

worthy of note, the class of 2014 will be smaller than most of the recent classes due to a projected declining need for new officers.

Although the size for the class of 2014 was originally set at 265, the Admissions Office recently asked the CGHQ to authorize an increase in the class size to 290.

The request was granted, so the class of 2014 will actually be larger than last year.

Are the statistics totalled up for SAT/ACT and such?

That’s great news!

Some people I know in CT have already gotten an appointment letter. So let the fun begin!

Yippeee! Let the unofficial welcoming of the class of 2014 begin! I’m happy for y’all, but even happier for my 2013-er!.

Such a great ride so far…wishing everyone a wonderful appointment-filled Christmas! Or an appointment-filled New Year!

Question, mainly for Luigi59:

I’ve heard that the decisions could be mailed out (not received) as late as December 24th, but I also heard the 15th is the day the final decisions are sent out. Which is true?

As an applicant, I’m obviously extremely anxious, so I guess I’m wondering how much longer I could be in limbo.

The goal is to mail out all EA decisions so they will arrive before December 24th.

Appointments are sent via USPS Priority Mail, which usually takes 2 days to arrive.

My DS received a letter dated 12/14/09 today saying his application has been sent to the Cadet Candidate Evaluation Board for review and he is “one step closer to an appointment to the Academy…” with instructions on how to verify his medical status. It says he can expect a decision no later than December 24.

I was expecting an appointment, a conditional appointment or a deferral. The letter reads like a request for additional information, which he will of course provide. Are others receiving similar letters?

i believe i received this letter as well. it just is letting you know you still need DODMERB clearance and is NOT related to your admission. you should still be getting a letter any day now about conditional appointments or deferrals. IF my information is correct.

Thank you! That makes sense; we will continue to stalk the mailman.

I can tell you from experience (my son’s) that it is THE best Christmas gift ever received! And the good news is even if it’s a deferral to regular admission, there’s still hope!!

I received my appointment today  Best Christmas present ever!

Congratulations! R-Day in 190 days!

Congratulations!

Thank you! I can’t see myself anywhere else next year, so I could not be happier! Now, the hard work begins :)

We received a letter today stating that the application had been deferred to the regular admission cycle. How common is it for an applicant to receive an LOA and be passed over for EA? Also, how likely is it that a deferred applicant will still get an appointment?

Any advice is appreciated.
