Hope for many comments.
Thanks!

Sure, you've got a chance. You've got impressive scores and good ECs on paper. But it's like I tell everybody who asks for their "chances": admissions are unpredictable, especially at Stanford. They reject people with flawless stats... They accept people with less than perfect stats. What makes the difference is what you show who you are and what your passions really are in your application. Your essay must make you stand out... There is no way to predict acceptance (or guarantee it).

I would say that you should really look hard into both Cornell and Stanford. If possible, do campus visits in the fall... Find out which one is really a better fit for you. Decide which one you absolutely feel the best about, and go from there. Nobody can make the decision for you, and nobody should... And you certainly have every right to apply. Good luck!

Cornell Yes, others toss up.

thanks,
sorry i meant ED not EA

your math, CR, and writing added up make 2150...

sorry that was my first test breakdown
my second was 800M, 720V, 730W

Stanford doesn't have ED Lakers. Only SCEA (Single-Choice Early Action)

Here's the dilemma: if you're unsure about where you want to go, you should naturally apply to Stanford, which is SCEA. This allows you the option of applying to Cornell RD and deciding later on. However, the advantage of applying to Cornell ED is enormous. You're a qualified student, but not a shoe-in to either school. It's a tough call. Are you willing to give up Stanford and take the safer path by applying ED to Cornell, or would you rather gamble a bit by applying EA to Stanford and then RD to Cornell? With the first scenario, you'll probably get into Cornell, but then you have to go there. With the second, there is a stronger chance that you won't be admitted to either school, but if you are, you have the luxury of choosing later.

Thanks Foreverzero! That's the same thing that i was thinking. I don't know what to do. Stanford is closer to where I live and it is a very good school. But I like Cornell's program also, and i want to make sure i at least go to Cornell.

Your stats and ECs are stronger than my son's. He got in EA to Stanford and RD to Cornell, for what that's worth.

How long ago was this SmileyMom?

Well if he in fact got in EA to Stanford, it must have been within the last three years (since SCEA started).

are you applying as international?

He got in EA last December (entering next month).
Actually his GPA was a bit higher (3.9 UW), the test scores are almost identical to yours, but I think your ECs are stronger.
