I'm having trouble finding stats on this, but how slimmer are the acceptance rates for students on EA rather than RD? I think I have a good shot at getting in RD and it appears they extended the EA deadline which is tempting since I mostly have my application together by now, but I am seriously considering Tulane and don't want to blow it by jumping for EA.

I actually heard that the acceptance rate for EA is around 40% give or take, whereas RD is less than that (maybe < 30%)

I also remember seeing that Tulane accpets 70% of its incoming class during EA and SCEA. Just keep that in mind.

I agree, Ruggy7, most schools, including Tulane the acceptance rate for EA students is higher than for RD. Tulane considers interest in the school as an important component. Applying EA shows more interest than applying RD. The only reason to apply RD, in my opinion, is if you miss the EA deadline or if you are applying to another school SCEA so you would not be allowed to apply EA elsewhere. There are many advantages to applying EA, you hear earlier. At Tulane your application is read on a rolling basis, the sooner you get it in, the sooner you can potentially hear. There is no downside to applying EA, it is not binding, you still have until May 1 to decide. I would suggest you finish the application and press the submit button! Good luck!

Oh ok! Yeah it is different at some schools, like NYU the acceptance rate is 32% for both ED and RD so it would be harder to get in ED. But I did some thinking and doing EA makes way more sense here. Thanks!
