Splashmom, my friend whose daughter applied lives not far from us and she received a letter today. Of course, mom didn't open it, but is hopeful that it is, in fact an acceptance. I, on the other hand, am SURE it is knowing this young lady and her grades, etc.

I hope that means that you should see a letter in the mail today too!

Splash is in! Got her acceptance letter today. Woo hoo! Now we have only to wait on the $$ letter.

Curmudgeon, if I could be in Texas right now, I would pick up your pogo-hopping postman and have him deliver that letter to you at your front door! You're probably waiting at the mailbox right now. I can't wait to hear from you!

Congrats, everyone! I guess my scholarship letter will come...hm...Saturday? ah. i'm nervous. let's all hope for the best!

anyone else heard anything?:)

curmudgeon's D was accepted -- he posted on the Parents Forum but must have forgotten to cross post. Good luck to everyone waiting on the scholarship letters!

i got my acceptance letter the other day, i just noticed centre's rated pretty darn high on us news- 41 or something like that under LAC's. not bad.

scholarship letters go out tomorrow...i guess i'll expect mine tomorrow/saturday? nervous, nervous, nervous.

O.K. If it's mailed in the a.m. and we are one time zone away and the mail carrier travels at 13 m.p.h. in a generally southwest direction and only stops for beer and cheetos. Naught from naught is naught, carry your one.* It will never get here.* Can anyone say e-mail?

We're counting on email. We still haven't received the official letter of acceptance, but thankfully it was emailed on Monday. Assuming the same timeline, we hope to hear on Monday.

Sorry guys but unless you are overseas (doddsdad) snail mail is the way you will receive it. You will get a letter outlining what they are saying you should expect and how it's broken out.

Don't take it as gospel truth however. When our FAFSA was filed and taxes complete we qualified for less than originally told. On the other hand, we went back to admissions, talked to them and they came up with a little more.

Strangely, the following year when we filed the FAFSA we were awarded a bit more aid than the first year (an additional SUBSIDIZED student loan -- the original was unsubsidized).

If you are a resident of Florida, Louisiana, South Carolina, Georgia or Tennessee Centre will match your lottery higher education scholarship (which is nice bonus--in Tennessee its $4k.)

Yep. I won't put a lot of stock into the early aid estimate, just the merit award , if any. I have yet to pull the trigger on the Fafsa but have to do so this weekend for another school's deadline. Still, it will be more data than I have today.

Did you receive your scholarship letter today, iamnotabronte? I don't guess any of us can expect to see letters Monday since it is a holiday (MLK).

oh man, I forgot that Monday is a bank holiday! I hate that you spend another day waiting...and I hope it's worth the wait.

Have a great weekend.

I received a faculty scholarship (15K/year) ... i'm very happy:)

good luck, everyone!

Congrats!!

Congratulations, iamnotabronte! Wonderful news. I got the impression there is a scholars weekend at Centre to compete for top scholarship. Do you know if that is the case?

great news iamnotabronte!!

and splashmom, I never got the impression that centre required anything else but the app for their range of scholarships up to and including full-tuition (which is the highest I have found on their website or by googling).

thanks y'all! :)!

splashmom, i was told something about that, too, when i went to interview. i think they send out letters later on about that? maybe? im not sure. i think i remember something being said about it being held in late march...hmm...
