Eagle Scout Unclear?

So I put Boy Scouts as my top Extracurricular and I said I was "Current Life Scout, Projected Eagle Scout February 2013"
I expanded on it in the 1000 character short answer in commonapp:

"Whether it was abandoning a hiking trip midway because of water shortage or forgetting to bring bug spray on a canoe trip, countless experiences as a Boy Scout have molded me into a person that understands the Boy Scout motto, “Be Prepared.” So when I was told my Eagle Project needed to be postponed yet again, I was frustrated but not surprised. After six years of being a Boy Scout, the challenges that I currently face in completing my Eagle Project are nothing new. But I am determined to achieve the Eagle Scout rank-- completion of this project will demonstrate the skills I have gained from my Boy Scout career over the past several years-- dedication , perseverance, and preparation. More importantly, it will validate the many years I have dedicated to the Boy Scouts of America that have contributed significantly to my personal growth. The main benefit I have gained from participating in this extracurricular activity has been to learn the five most crucial aspects of being a great leader: be selfless, be confident, be open-minded, be the example, and be prepared."

However, I just realized I should have used an additional document to further explain the circumstances. I have gotten approval for my Eagle Project (Presented to the City's Parks and Rec Board, Community Board, Scoutmaster etc.) and I was planning on doing the actual work (Building an ADA trail in a park) in December but it got postponed to January.
I would've loved to expand on what my project actually is to show how close I am to Eagle Scout (Yes I know paperwork/board of review takes a while)

I have already sent my 4 of my applications but can I still send followup letters to those colleges?

My only concern would be that you would be describing something you are planning to do, but that you have not yet done.

The way you listed your Eagle Scout as projected (and future date) was correct. The wording part of your essay was also in the future, so I do not see any problem there either. My D was in the process of completing her Girl Scout Gold Award which is similar to Eagle Scout and wanted to include it on her resume for an internship. She checked with GS Council and was told to do exactly what you have done, so I do not see any problem. BTW, we have been told by more than one admissions person, that Eagle Scout and Gold Award ECs are automatically pulled separately for review because of the prestige of leadership. There is nothing wrong with completing your project in your senior year and if you wanted to write about your actual project a little more, you could add it to supplements and then also send an additional email to the submitted application schools. I would add the actual title of your service project in the ECs as well- “ADA Park Ramp Build” and then expound on that title in the supplement. By putting a title for the project, it lets them see it, right at the top of your ECs. And now, you must make sure you push even harder to get it wrapped up! Best wishes and I am glad there are teens who stick with Scouting.
