I'm debating whether to spend my summer interning or traveling abroad through EAP.. Can anyone give me some pros and cons of both? I'm thinking of a career in finance.

What kind of internship is it? How selective is it to take it? You can always do EAP another time; it's not going anywhere. If you feel that the internship is a limited opportunity, just go with it!

Well... This is for next summer, so I don't know yet, but I'm hoping to get something in corporate finance.

I guess my question is, to put it bluntly, how impressive is EAP on one's resume? Does it help one stand out?

umm...EAP is basically YOU PAYING to go study in a foreign country. Internship is someone else PAYING YOU to do work for them. Which do you think is more impressive?

Internship. Internship. Internship. It doesn't matter if it pays or not, you are getting valuable experience, and maybe if you work hard enough, a job offer.

I had a huge issue with this as well. I was about to go off with EAP and then one week before booking a plane ticket I suddenly got a notice saying I had been accepted into a summer leadership program.

It's really up to you. In the end I chose to stay because I got an internship, could knock off some classes, and I had the leadership program. I can still do EAP next year [hopefully] and if not then there are other study abroad programs. You just have to make it happen. If you're worried about graduation, you should look into travel study for the summer after graduation. I know a friend of mine is studying abroad through EAP for a year after he graduates, but that might not be an option for you since you're looking into corporate finance. Just plan it out well and remember that for EAP you have until May 10 (at least for this year, check the dates for next) to withdraw. That should leave you enough time to find out if you got an internship or not and to decide accordingly. Best of luck =)
