Early Action Acceptance

prettyinpink, maybe not all parts of your application were received by November 1st? I know I sent my application in by Nov. 1st for EA but my transcripts didn't get there until the middle of November (even though my school said they sent them in mid-October!), so they told me I would be in the RD pool as a result.

Not cool : (

Thanks for the congrats! Good luck to everyone else who have not heard yet. My letter says nothing about financial aid either, so I guess I will just have to wait for that.

hm possibly..but i submitted my application oct. 26thish and when i was able to log in on to ecampus which was the first week of novemberish, it said i had some outstanding items (i can't remember exactly which ones they were but i am thinking it was the rec or transcript) but i emailed the processing staff and they got back to me within a few days and said they had received all my materials and that day, the website was updated. but this was within the first week and a half of november...i know everything was sent well before november 1 because i had rec letters/transcripts handed out and mailed by early/mid-october..so the site could just take a long time to update...i really don't know...as soon as i get my letter to confirm whatever it is, i will definitely call and find out what is up...

Oops! Wrong forum. Busted...

I am a little confused. When did we start talking about Occidental?
Haha, didnt Obama go there before transferring to Cornell (Brown?)?

zwilliams, me either- what are your stats?

GPA: 3.47
SAT: 1940 (730 M, 620 CR, 590 W)
Prep School with national rankings (don't rank students)
Pretty good EC's
Great Rec

z, your stats are similar to mine, although my SAT's are slightly lower but gpa slightly higher. Are you a male? Where are you from? I'm hoping that being a male from the southeast will help. I also go to a nationally ranked Episcopal prep school that doesn't rank students. It's insane how many people in my class have already been admitted to an Ivy ED.

i'm not so mad that i am not getting a provost/presidential anymore because i talked with admissions and they are going to transfer my 32 college credits ti think. so i'll theoretically already have a year down for school! -40,000!!

ahh! still haven't received my letter yet but looking at everyone else's stats makes me really confused as to why i got deferred!!

Deferred today.

Got my acceptance letter today! No mention of scholarships. Rather surprised since I'm from a Jesuit H.S. in Detroit and have great credentials. I'm looking into whether or not the scholarships (Presidential, Provost, and Dean's) are awarded later in mid-January since I'm hearing conflicting stories. To get a exact understanding on their merit scholarship procedures, I sent e-mail inquires out to my SCU admissions counselor, including Sandra Hayes. Hopefully, I should hear back soon, and will report the official word.

In the meantime, I have created a Facebook group for SCU admits of '12. I encourage all to join. The group is called "Santa Clara University Class of 2012." It would be great to bring some of the convo to the group page.

Sidenote: I'm deciding b/n Santa Clara and University of Michigan. It may come down to the money, but deep down I want to be a bronco.

Best of luck to all.

congrats to everyone who was accepted, and to those deffered: hang in there! we're all wishing the best for you. awesome idea on making the facebook group.

two things.

1) We called Santa Clara again today. They said that infact they did send some notifications of scholarships, but that more will come out of the finanical aid office. So I don't know what that means, but take it as you will.

2) With some of these high stats being rejected, and Santa Clara's sucsess in business, sports, and solar decathalon. Do you think that Santa Clara's becoming one of those 'gems' or rising star schools? Seems to me it kind of is.

But hey, "it's the Georgetown of the west."

So if mine says it needs 7th semester transcript, does that definitely mean I was deferred?

:(

Not definetely. Thank you bretjohnson.

...wait, on ur ecampus or in the mail?

On ecampus

akronig, what are your stats (for us RD people). thanks.

I just got deferred from Santa Clara. :( I had 3.5 GPA and 1830 SAT. Good recs, ec's and leadership. I am kinda surprised. What do you guys think?
