Early Action applicants... post your worries/decisions here

I'm anxiously awaiting my admissions decision for NEU. It is one of the more selective colleges I'm applying to, and I hope I can get in. Decisions are to be mailed by Dec. 31, but will start coming out probably around Dec. 15-20. Good luck to all of you!

Aaah I just want my decision!

How do you know they're coming out then???

i'm pretty confident that i have the grades etc to get into northeastern, what i'm worried about is getting into the music industry program which is definitely more selective.

guess we'll just have to wait and see...

What?????!!!!!?????? Decisions start coming out from the 15-20? How do you know this??? I hope you are right, because I'm so anxious!!!!!!!! Please accept me NEU.

I was just about to post a thread like this :)

Is it via email or a letter or package in the mail. I need to know what to expect. What majors are you all applying to? Anyone want to be in the Honors college? do we find out now or later?

They're released on the Application Status Check, I understand.

i got an email from northeastern telling me to fill out my css profile. if it's finished by the 12th, do you think it'll hold back my decision?

I just got the same email. I was hoping it meant I was in and they had passed the info on to Financial aid. What do you think? Wishful thinking?

Isn't the CSS deadline Feb 15th?

The agony of waiting :[

apparently the deadline for css is feb. 15th, but the early deadline was nov. 15th. i probably should've known this since i applied EA. i just hope that if my profile isn't finished until the end of the week i'll still get my decision around the 18th like everyone else who applied EA.

So if you don't have the CSS done right now, will this effect admission?

Slurringspeech;I am curious about the recent posts regarding the e-mail requesting people to complete their CSS profiles....what are you majoring in and when did you get this e-mail? My son has applied to the College of Engineering and we are anxiously awaiting a EA response!! I'm not quite sure why they would suddenly ask for this??

the deadline for CSS is 2/15 regardless of whether you are applying EA or RD, and I also don't understand these letters.

As of last year's early action applicants thread, decisions came out December 18 online.

I'll know for sure when I get home, but I know that my first choice was either communications or psychology. Either way, it's in the CAS.

My son also received one of those emails from the financial aid office at Northeastern. It was sent on 12/9 and he has applied to CAS. A little strange, since the forms are not due until Feb.

My guess is that this may be more for purposes of awarding merit scholarships, which as far as I can tell are determined based on both academic performance and financial need. From their financial aid/scholarship page:

Seems just to be a reminder if you checked on your Common App that you were applying for finaid.

I was under the impression that merit was in no way connected to financial need.
I was also expecting that upon a letter of acceptance, that a tentative offer accompanied the letter, I heard it at one of the fall open houses. Believe me, I paid close attention to that detail as we were left hanging for close to 4 months from first daughter's acceptance letter.
