Early action applicants

Are you sending your first quarter grades!?!? help soon please

Yup! I had my guidance counselor send my first quarter grades through the ‘optional report’ on the Common Application.

I sent my application on Oct 26th I think, and I don’t believe that my first quarter grades were on there when my counselor his portion. But of course, they weren’t available then.

It’s just because somewhere on the site it says EA candidates should submit first term grades As soon as available on the website but Northeastern doesn’t remind us anywhere else during the application waiting period

I submitted my application materials September-October and didn’t include my first-term grades because they weren’t available yet. I would think that they would have it listed under “Required Documents” on the application status check if it was mandatory to have the grades sent in. I did get to meet with an admissions representative last month and talked to her about submitting my transcripts. I wasn’t aware that they were asking for first-term grades, this is the first time that I’ve heard about it, so I asked if I needed to send in the mid-year grades as soon as they became available. She said that most of the time, students who are admitted EA are not required to submit their mid-year grades, only their final grades. However, deferred EA candidates are required to. I’ll take a look at the website again and see if I can find anything!

If you’re not sure, call Admissions.

On the required materials list Northeastern clearly states: “Early action candidates should send their first-term grades as soon as they are available.”

I e-mailed my admissions counselor last night and asked her about it. My school does not include quarter grades on the official transcript, only semester grades. Hopefully they will accept a copy of my report card instead of a transcript.

I emailed my counselor about it last night as well & he told me he’d send them in the morning. Idk how but they’ll certainly get them

Finally got the answer directly from an admissions officer at Northeastern! She said that you do NOT need to submit any additional grades as of now; your application is complete and will be reviewed without them. If you are deferred EA, you will be required to submit your first semester grades. If you are admitted and choose to attend, you will submit your final grades.

So if your application for EA was already completed and you sent them a few weeks after anyways, are they still going to consider them?

I’m not sure, sorry! You can e-mail the admissions office and ask them about it.

Does anyone know if we hear back about financial aid/scholarships at the same time as when we find out if we are accepted or not?

My daughter’s EA acceptance 2 years ago did include her scholarship information (we did not apply for Financial aid). You will also be notified if you were accepted into the honors program.

You’re supposed to submit the CSS Profile by December 1st & they release your financial aid with your admissions decision. I got an email from the school stating that two weeks ago
