James Madison University is probably my #1 when it comes to my college list. I've been working on all of my college applications lately and have been considering applying early action to a few schools. I'm retaking the SAT on October 11th and I'm taking the ACT on October 25th for the first time. The early action deadline for JMU is on November 1st. I put JMU on the list of colleges to have my test scores sent to immediately when they are "posted".

My SAT scores currently are only "okay" which is why I am taking them over again. Since the test dates are so close to the deadline, I'm worrying that JMU won't get my new scores in time for early action and all they'll see is my test scores from April and June.
What should I do?

From what I can see, the SAT/ACT scores are due at the same time as the application. I can’t find when the actual deadline is for test-taking but I’m guessing it’s before the application deadline. I’m mostly worried about my October scores not getting to JMU by the time they see my application.

“JMU requires that your official test results be sent to us electronically direct from the testing agency and arrive by the application deadline.”

This suggests to me that your October tests will not make it in on time.

Thanks! I’m probably applying to a few schools early admission but I’m considering waiting to regular decision for JMU to be on the safe side. I really want to score better so hopefully the wait is worth it!
