Thanks Collegehunter5. Our CSS profile is done, so financial aid would be more/less similar after FAFSA is done. He just need to be accepted. Hope he will.

@collegehunter5 Thank you! We will definitely attend. It’s a nice surprise to be able to feel special in any way during this process. I was wondering if these sessions sort of replaced the legacy interviews as a way to see if the students were using NEU as a safety school. Someone told me that if they got that feeling, the student was either waitlisted or admitted to NUin. But it doesn’t sound like they could determine that from the session. My son wants fall admission. Best of luck to you as well!

@NoelMaple I believe that is why they created early decision in the first place. There are no interviews this year. This meeting is strictly about any questions. They are not there to get to know you.

@NoelMaple , my daughter is also a legacy applicant…the notice for the events were a little too short for us. I spoke to her admissions rep and he told me that it is an info session, they no longer offer interviews for legacies. We decided not to go since it is a hike for us and our daughter has to be careful with absences from school. She sent in the additional documents they suggested

Wondering if anyone can advise about CSS. For CSS profile since it is requested to submit before Dec-1-14 for EA, they are asking tax 1040 information on 2014 which we have not filed yet and estimation on 2015. Can we use 2013, since it is the only available one now? And can we update CSS next year when 2014 tax is done?

yeah

@hellowworld , you can use your 2013 since we haven’t even ended the year . I was told that it needs to be done by Dec 1st in order to determine any possible early scholarship offers when notifications are sent out for admissions.
I started it the other day but really hit the wall when it came to information related to our business. I had to turn it over to our accountant because I had no idea how to proceed. It’s a lot more complicated than FAFSA , and not as user friendly :(

Does anyone know if the ed decisions will come out before December 15th, or if well hear exactly on that day? I’ve been constantly checking my email hoping to see something

@MegTenney15 We will DEFINITELY hear by December 15th for sure. This is the first ear northeastern is doing ED so there is nothing to judge from years past. However, if you look at other schools who have ED, the applicants hear on the Friday before. Not sure if that is the case this year but definitely a possibility. Last year, the EA applicants heard on the Friday (13th) so I’m curious if ED will hear even before then. Really hope so, the suspense is killing me.

Waiting is so stressful!! I’m trying not to get my hopes up but it’s now working out very well

Do ED and EA hear at the same time?

will EA hear before Christmas?

On the website it says that ED will hear before EA, but since its the first year with ED we could all hear around the same time.

I applied EA as well. We hear back New Years Eve I believe

I’m hoping for a great start to the New Year with an acceptance to Northeastern!

Does anyone know how we find out? (like an email etc)

An email telling you to look at your on-line decision

would the email give you login information?

You use your NU id number that you got to check your application status

Historically, Northeastern’s early action decisions are usually released on the Thursday before winter break. We’ll see if that’s the case b/c of the new early decision applicant factor.
