Thanks.

i got an email saying this… if that helps…

Bumble,

We are committed to making your Trinity education affordable. Please take note that many financial aid and scholarship filing deadlines are fast approaching.

NEED-BASED FINANCIAL AID: This includes grants, subsidized loans, and student employment for families without the means to pay all college expenses. Apply by FEBRUARY 15. Detailed instructions and forms are available online.

SCHOLARSHIPS & GRANTS: While you are automatically considered for several general academic awards when you apply for admission, we encourage you to review our complete list of scholarships and grants, many of which require separate applications.

Your detailed financial aid award package will be mailed to you by April 1. For more information about Trinity’s financial aid offerings visit our financial aid web site.

Questions? We offer personalized financial aid counseling. Please contact our Office of Financial Aid at financialaid@trinity.edu or 1-800-TRINITY.

Sincerely,

Christopher J. Ellertson

Dean of Admissions & Financial Aid

PS - Still haven’t applied? You have until February 1 to submit your application for admission.

i don’t like receiving these types of msgs, only because id feel so much worse if i was rejected, you know?

but i dont know, does receiving mail mean a good thing? =S im so confused!

lol i dont think we find out for a few more days

yup, Feb 1st I believe :]

My daughters received their acceptance emails on 2/1 last year after submitting EA apps. Good luck to you.

Got a phone call today from the Dean of Admissions who said that he’ll call later this week for a phone interview as part of the application process for the Distinguished Scholars award thing. I’m so terrible at talking on the phone, so I’m dreading it…

Good luck to you. Be sure you visit the website so you don’t ask something that’s there for you to already know.

buriedalie, I am so jealous Congrats/good luck! I want a phone call like that.

I did the interview and I think they’re inviting me to campus… O_O so nervous, and I feel kind of guilty because Trinity isn’t really my first choice, at least not anymore… so I’m worried I might be taking away someone’s spot, someone who really wants it… =/

My daughter just received an acceptance e-mail from Trinity.

Congrats, dutchmom! Is she likely to attend or is she holding out for another choice?

She really likes Trinity, but would like to see where else she can get in. (vandy is her first choice) We have to see what financial package they will offer too!

Congrats buriedalie (what lie did you bury?). j/k

Same to your D, Dutchman. UT and Vandy are wonderful schools, but TU is really great, too.

Just checked -My daughter got an email this evening:
I am delighted to inform you that you have been admitted to the Trinity University Class of 2014.

You are among a select group of students offered admission. We feel you would be a wonderful addition to our student body, and on behalf of the entire campus community, would like to welcome you to Trinity.

An official letter of acceptance will arrive in the mail soon. Please feel free to contact the Office of Admissions if you have any questions about the University, San Antonio, or the next step in the admissions process. We also encourage you and your family to visit campus for Trinity 360°, our special preview program just for admitted students, on March 6 or April 17.

i just got the email at 7 am. =P YAY! im so happy!

D just got the email today also. Great news for her. Very exciting.

Manyamile, and FLVADAD are your daughters likely to attend?

What about you Bumble?

so far, me and my parents are leaning towards trinity for the following reasons:

-relatively safe and clean campus
-close to the airport
-solid reputation in terms of academics
-loving the undergraduate focus
-know two contacts who go there and absolutely love it
-the dorms. i know this sounds funny, but i cannot go to a place where they have filthy dorms. i just can’t ;D and trinity’s are supposed to be top of the line

there’s plenty more, but im too tired to type anymore.

but im still keeping my options open. this is the first college i have heard from in terms of acceptance/declined, so I won’t be making my decision just yet

how about your daughter?

Dutchmom, D is at the stage where she has a bit of sensory overload – there are so many moving pieces to sort out. Unfortunately, I think it’s going to go down to the wire for her after she has all the information in front of her. However, I do know that Trinity was not at all a random selection and she is making plans to visit as we speak. I’m personally excited because I like visiting San Antonio :).

My daughter really likes Trinity and so do we, the parents.
However, she has also been accepted to Tulane University(with scholarship), Rhodes ( we are waiting for the financial information) and some State Universities, where the cost of attendance will be considerably less.
She is still waiting for the decisions from some additional universities/colleges.
Last, but not least, we have to see what financial package Trinity will offer her.
