how do we know when a college is sending out the early action decisions? some post last possible dates on their websites but it seems that they go out sooner based on rumors i've heard.

They usually send out an email to all applicants and post it on their website/social media.

Just check your email regularly. As far as I know, most colleges will send decisions a few days before if not the actual date posted

Although my daughter got accepted into a small Ohio college early action without receiving any email, just a large packet in the mail labeled “yes!”. We are worried, though, that a friend heard Early Action from another college a few days that my daughter really wants to attend but she has heard nothing. I don’t know if it matters if you apply earlier in the semester vs. the day before the app is due. Still hoping!
