Early Action deferrence

IF I apply for Early Action, and I am not accepted, will I be deferred into the Regular Decision application pool?

These are the Universities I'm thinking doing EA with:

UChicago
UMichigan
Northwestern
UIllinios - UC

You would have to look up the specific policy at each school. There are basically 2 things a school can do with an EA application:

 1. admit or defer
 2. admit, defer, or deny

The chances of admission if deferred will vary by school as well.

I don’t think it would hurt you or anyone else to apply EA and it is a real plus to get feedback on your application while there is still time to adjust your list of schools to apply to.

Some schools defer all applicants, while others will defer many but reject some. If you are rejected, you may not apply again for RD admissions. If you are deferred, you will be considered for admissions again in the spring and need not apply again.
