Hello everyone! I don’t believe a thread has been created for this topic yet, so I decided to begin it. I was on Twitter and saw that Dickinson began their Early Action committee on January 3rd. Last year, decisions were released on February 7th. Anyone know when we should be hearing from about the Early Action decisions this year? Thanks in advance!
You should probably post this in the Dickinson forum instead. Good luck, my D1 was accepted several years ago via EA, attended, and loved it!
My D’s Admissions counselor emailed her guidance counselor a week or two ago saying that decisions were coming out early Feb. We can hardly wait. Really hoping for good news. Loved Dickinson!! He also said that they have a target of 600 students and that 245 were accepted for ED. They had a 9% increase in EA applicants over last year. It doesn’t seem like very many spots are left (355) but here’s hoping!!
So exciting! Thank you for sharing this information. I really appreciate it. Good luck!
Just checked last years common data set and 285 students were admitted ED, maybe that’s a good sign for the kids waiting for EA.
My son is waiting anxiously for his decision. I really like Dickinson and its much closer then most of the other schools he has applied to (only an hour and half drive).
Does anybody if admission decisions will be sent via the portal, email, or regular mail?
In previous years, it seems like the decision is first released via portal and then through the mail.
*seemed like the decision was
@qwerty26, on the website it ways “We have recently added the ability to view decisions online and we will send you an e-mail that lists your username and password and the Web site address. The online decisions will be made available on the same date we mail the decision letters.”
@kledge Thank you, I’m excited for it
Gosh. Since Feb 1 is a Sunday do you think they’d release before? or Feb 2? I can hardly wait and I’m not even the kid!
@redpoodles, D and I are also very anxious. Of course, no real choices can be made without a finaid package but it’ll just be nice to know either way. This is the last of her early action schools, she had decisions before December for the others.
I just spoke with the admissions office. The decisions will be posted online after 5 p.m. one day next week (they said “first week in February”). All decisions will be posted simultaneously - not released in waves geographically or alphabetically. They have not yet announced the specific date next week.
Do you know if they will be in the mail the same day we receive the email?
@stressedoutsenior15 they will be mailed the same day the decisions are emailed, so we will get the letter a few days after the email.
@janjmom Thank you…did they give any more info? or anything on Twitter? This week seems kind of early based on past years…hmmm.
@kibbles sorry but that was all they said (and all I asked)…but last year I think decisions were available feb 6 so this week would be consistent. The woman I spoke with was clear that it would be one day this week. (Probably, the way things have been going for us, it will be Friday, lol, so we will all suffer for another few days!!!)
The suspense is killing me! In other threads, I’ve seen one year the decisions were released on Monday and another year Thursday. Both years, the date was the sixth. Anyone think Friday will be the release day?
Why not just tell us it will be on the 6th instead of this?
They don’t like to commit in case there is some kind of last minute snafu. All colleges are like that. We were visiting a college once on the day when the RD letters went out. Everyone in admissions was looking out the window as the boxes were loaded into a mail truck. Apparently the year before a box had been dropped and letters had blown everywhere… so they were all watching the next year. I don’t think that is the kind of snafu most colleges are expecting, but what if 2 people from admissions get the flu today and are out the rest of the week??
