I was told that even if you applied rolling if you had everything in by nov 1 your application would be considered early action. Does anyone know of this is true?

I think you had to have indicated on your Common App that you wanted to be considered EA, but I’m not sure honestly since you met the EA deadline.

Do they wait to send out rolling until after early action decisions?

Early action will give you a decision by mid January. Regular decision will start in February.

My daughter applied on 9/24 and chose rolling rather than EA by mistake. I called Ohio State twice just to be sure and both times I was told it does not matter which one you choose because they do not have the time to sort through thousands of applications to review only those labeled EA. I was told that anybody who has their application in by 11/1 will have it viewed the same. They were right because despite putting “rolling” she was admitted on Friday.

Checked today and the following my son’s application status: Congratulations, you have been admitted to Ohio State! You will receive your notice of admission soon.
