i didn’t get anything in connecticut either

nothing in NH…

Does anyone have a friend or someone they know who got a rejection or deffered letter yet?

Nothing here today either (CT). Above posts infer a pattern that indicates that Loyola’s correspondence headed to CT applicants didn’t get mailed in time to arrive by their stated 1/15 date.

Son got his acceptance in southern CT on the 13th. Maybe with the snow people in other parts of CT are delayed.

Our mail was being delayed because the mail lady is having a baby–it’s a girl! Got the note in the box today

Was accepted in CT on 1/14. Stayed home from practice and waited for the mail to come through the door slot haha.
GPA: 3.65w, 1 AP, 1 Hnrs, 25 ACT, Outstanding Recommendations

Good Luck to All!

are people expecting to go here? i got in, but the prices are absolutely ridiculous…

MARIA2 - I am starting to worry a little too. My son is in Central Jersey and did not receive news as of today. Nobody on this thread has identified anyone who has received a declination, right ? Someone else said they called Loyola and the admission office said we would find out by January 15th. I think we are now past the snow excuses. So, I am now wondering if early action applicants who are NOT accepted in the “first round”, might at least be left on a “maybe” list to compete with the regular admission applicants ??? This school, even with the cost factor, is our #1/#2 choice so the Loyola envelope that we are still waiting for is definitely the most important piece of mail expected at this point in time !

POP–

With Early Action, there are three options – a student can be accepted at that time, they can be declined, and they can be deferred for later consideration. The latter is because their grades and all fit in with the school’s goals for shaping the new class, but the AO wants to see the other applications that will be arriving RD.

If my child was deferred, I would tell her to let the school know in no uncertain terms that it is the first choice and if accepted s/he will absolutely turn up in Sept. That affects the yield and the AO does like to know who is really “serious” and who is using them as a "safety’’ or a second or third choice.

Also if anything “interesting” has happened since the application was sent, such as big-deal awards, jumps in grades, another set of test scores showing nice improvement, I would send those to the AO.

If a student is declined, they can go to some other school for a while and try the transfer route, if the EA school meant that much to them. Or they can say cest la vie and go to a different school. It happens to the best of us.

We live a little north of Trenton, in Mercer Co., if that helps you in the geographic comparison dept. As to snow “excuses,” Loyola had every right to think that mail sent on Monday would arrive in NJ, CT, etc by Saturday. If the USPS did not get it to the kids by then, don’t hang it on the school. Best of luck to your son!

I don’t think people who haven’t heard yet should start freaking out. I know people who applied to colleges and got their acceptance letters after the supposed deadline. I feel for you guys, but you still have a chance and shouldn’t put your heads down yet. (:

Good luck, everyone!

In MD…D got her small envelope yesterday First deferral…the letter was dated January 14th, so the deferrals were definitely sent out last. And I guess the denials will come even later. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. I guess a deferral is not a no…we will no for sure in March.

Accepted In NJ. heard on 1/14. Post office deliver to a house 2 miles away. The homeowner called & said they had something we might want! Second time our post office did this, last time the package was returned to the University. That school’s Admissions called our house & said their letter had been returned & they were re-sending it. It was an acceptence w/ a really nice scholarship in it… Was hoping Loyola’s would have $ in it too!

Still haven’t gotten anything in California, slightly concerned. Not sure if I’ve been denied, deferred, accepted, or if it’s just taking extra time because I’m across the country. :/

Don’t loose hope cjurgens52, you are across the country, so it may just be taking a little longer. You should receive something soon.

I would go to the PO, buy some stamps, & very nicely & politely let them know your child is eagerly hoping to hear from Schools X, Y & Z, and that if anything that looks like an acceptance (as opposed to mistaking large envelopes for mass mailings) comes in, you would be so grateful if they could get it to your house asap.

That’s what I told the postman, and it worked pretty well! We are in a small town though.

Hope it comes in today or tomorrow

Nothing in mail again today. Did anyone get a letter today?

My letter came, I got deferred :// oh well we’ll see in march. good thing it was only tied for my first school, and I got into the other one.

They said if I want to send anything in for my file, I should, but like what?
