Loyola Maryland - Any REGULAR Decision Acceptances Yet ?

My son's Early Action application was deferered into the Regular Decision Pool.....I believe that the next set of decisions will be announced "by March 15th".....please post any positive or negative news from Loyola so everyone else still waiting can know about the timing of these communications.....THANK YOU in advance for sharing ! Good Luck to All !

I have a son who applied RD at Loyola and have not heard yet. However my other son is a student at Loyola and he heard from them in mid-March (we saved the info). GREAT school my older son loves the school, the professors, the area. Good Luck!!

lmarisas - Thanks for your reply…the decision from Loyola is the last one that we are waiting for…the wait is excruciating because we would definitely choose Loyola over all of the other colleges that he has already been accepted to…fingers have been crossed for months now ! Congrats on your first son making it and hope you go "two for two’ !

Only a couple more days! I’m very excited. Have been nervously checking mail and the suspense builds every day

I received my letter today! I’m in MD about 25 minutes from the campus.

Ahhhhh!!! That makes me so excited for the mail on monday!

No mail from Loyola Maryland at our NJ address today…this is agonizing for this particular Father because I truly believe that Loyola is the BEST fit for my son out of all the colleges that he applied to…we are truly waiting for a life altering decision so I hope he gets accepted…SOON ! Monday can’t come fast enough for this family…Good Luck to All…

Thanks for the heads up everyone. Nothing here in Central Virginia yet. For those who have already heard, can you tell me if merit aid awards came at the same time? And for the acceptances–skinny/small or fat/large envelope? I assume DS’s will come tomorrow!

MyLB: My early action acceptance came in a very large envelope (I can’t remember if it said “Congratulations” on it or not). But you’ll know if you’re accepted if you get a large envelope. Merit aid did not come in the package, but maybe for RD applicants it will.

It was a big tan envelope that said “Welcome To Loyola” on the back. It’s really thick. Merit aid information comes our April 1st. Goodluck !

Alright in about 18 hours the vast majority of us will have our decisions. Heres to hoping we all get big fat tannish envelopes! I’ll post when I get home from school tomorrow, no matter the result

All right! Fat envelope!!

My son received his acceptance today ! Thank you Loyola for the big fat tan envelope ! GREAT news…hope others on this thread are just as happy as we are !

Unfortunately, there was no mention of Merit Aid so we will have to wait to see what Need Based Aid we will be offered…this school will cost us about $18,000 more than his next choice so we are not quite there yet…more waiting, but the worst part if finally OVER !

Nice big envelope! No FA info…

My daughter found out today she was accepted to Loyola after being deferred. We’re so happy although they didn’t offer any merit $!

Son in CT was accepted. I think the package said they would notify you of merit aid no later than 4/1. So there is still hope for all. My quick math shows it’s about $50,000 without food so it’s definately more than Marist, wich my son also likes (and is closer to home).

Got my acceptance today!!

Stats
3.88 uw gpa
1910 SAT

I am, unfortunately, aware of how expensive Loyola is and I realize it would be hard for my parents. There wasn’t any merit in my acceptance, but is there still a chance? Do they send merit and financial aid out later?

Congrats guys ! If you didn’t get any merit info don’t stress, April 1st is when they come out. Financial aid packages come out no later than April 10th.

New to College Confidential here. Any comments on their non-traditional meal plan? Its basically debit card, pay as you go. Most other schools i’ve looked at had an option type debit card in addition to a meal plan.

You’ve said it all. Instead of paying a certain amount for food you spend what you have. I believe it’s called the evergreen card. Once you have money on the card you can go almost anywhere on campus and in some cases you can use it off campus. The only negative is that it is not a fixed cost but the postive is that you only pay for what you eat.
