Well, I don’t want to ramble out my full stats, since its so long and hard to do, but I consider myself an average student. I’m just wondering though, when I’m applying to colleges next year (yes, I am a junior), would EARLY Decision HELP OR HURT me? I know that if you apply for early decision to a college, and you get accepted, you have to go there and turn down all other places. I would save EA for the college I know I want to go to. But wouldn’t it kind of help me? If I turn in my application before the majority of people turn in theirs (regular decision), I’d be one of the first they’d see, and so they wouldn’t be able to compare me to Mr or Ms. So and So. There would be more slots available, and I’d have a smaller competition since not as many would go for ED. Please give me your views.

Two drawbacks:

1) It's no good if you're not sure where you want to go (as you already mentioned).

2) It doesn't let you compare financial aid offers.
