early decision chances

Just finished my junior year. I have a 3.5 GPA (91)(rank: 40-50/200), and scored a 1930 on the SAT (CR 650 M 610 W 670)(plans to take it again). I took my SAT 2s and scored a 690 on the US history.

White Male, NY public school
I have:
-A few years of Varsity Sports
-3 Honor Societies
-Class Secretary
-7 AP classes (AP Bio, AP Physics, AP Calc, AP English (2 years), AP US, AP Gov)
-Community service
-Multiple jobs
-grades in upward trend, most challenging courses possible

I plan on using early decision that could possibly, and luckily get me in to a school normally a little above me. What are my chances if i apply ED to:

Cornell University- Agriculture and Life Sciences (economics)
Johns Hopkins

Cornell dosent look at writing SAT instead they rely on your essays I believe.

There middle 50% scores are 640-730 (CR) 670-770 (math)

So get SAT scores up and give it a shot.

Kid from my school had 2200, 4.0, pretty decent EC’s and was still rejected from those two schools early decision. You need to get your SAT up definitely, but even then your GPA makes you a huge longshot for those schools.

Both reaches, look for targets and safeties. With those credentials, you should have plenty of great options.

i’m not necessarily saying I’m a match for these schools, and i do have other schools in mind, but I want to apply early decision to a big reach school just in case i get lucky.
