Early Decision Chances??

My S just received his second set of SATs. Scores are: 700M, 610CR, 530W. He absolutely loved GW on a recent visit and really wants to apply ED in the Fall. He has roughly a 3.3GPA (taking mostly advanced classes and will take 3 APs next year), president of a language club, and on varsity golf team, along with a little volunteering and will work in a law firm this summer. He was really hoping to get his Writing score up this second time around but it only went up 10pts (Math and CR stayed the same). We are wondering whether he should attempt a third try at the SATs or will his scores suffice for ED next Fall? In other words, does that lower Writing score put him too far out of the ballpark for a decent shot at ED?

Thanks so much for any thoughts or advice!

I am pretty sure that they do not look at the writing, but call admissions to be sure.

Actually, GW is one of the few schools that look at your whole application, so don't give up if you feel that besides improving the grades, etc.. extracurriculars can be improved as well. yes, the writing portion of the SAT is looked at as well...
