Hey! I’m applying ED1 at Wellesley too! I hope that everyone here on this forum gets accepted we just have to get through the agonizing wait period first…
Hello! I’m applying ED, and I’m so nervous… 5 weeks left!
Good luck to all of you. My D was in your shoes last November and is a happy first year now!
ED1 too! So relieved to finally have my app in but now I’m nervous for my interview
Reminder that interviews are a two-way street. You are talking with an representative of Wellesley to learn more about the college and if it will be a good fit for your personality and goals. And vice-versa.
Maybe you’ve spent hours researching everything that’s ever been published about Wellesley. Or maybe you haven’t. Regardless, here’s your chance to speak with a Wellesley alumna/student/staff and ask about those things that you’ve only been able to read about.
Be authentic. Be yourself. You know that you are a smart, talented high-achiever that seeks a challenge or you wouldn’t be considering Wellesley. The interviewer is simply curious to learn about you…what’s your story? What are your passions? The Admissions Committee will have plenty of quantitative data about you (test scores, GPA, course schedule, extracurriculars, etc.), but they ONLY have the essay and the interview to get a glimpse into what makes you tick. So tell them.
Good luck!

POTENTIAL STRENGTHS: ongoing contact that I built with a classics professor, rarity of my intended major, I think my SAT score is above Wellesley’s averages, essays, recs
POTENTIAL WEAKNESSES: lower level math course, typo in common app
@libartscollege - do you really need a chance me post? Sounds like you are brilliant and well-loved. Don’t be so sure your intended major is so rare - there are tens of 1000’s of kids every year who desire this potential major. But many won’t have your EC’s.
Do many kids at your high school take higher level math courses? Your GPA/WGPA combo might put you at valedictorian in some high schools, but barely the top 50% in other schools where more kids challenge themselves. Wellesley won’t hold it against you if you take the most rigorous course load available at your school, and you do well.
What they might hold against you are the luxuries that less fortunate kids can’t take - they may simply not consider trips to Rome and the Alpine Skiing because doing do favors the more wealthy families - but it sounds to me that despite all your advantages, you are a likeable person who will be an asset to Wellesley or wherever you may choose to attend. Best of luck!
I hadn’t seen anyone post this so in case you guys didn’t know: results come out December 7th ‘in the evening’!!!
Does anyone know what ‘the evening’ would be? I’m an international student so it would be very early morning my time, and I’m trying to decide whether I should sleep and check in the morning or just stay up!! Thanks
from checking previous classes’ ED threads, I think decision release is usually around 5 pm EST
I applied early as well! Knowing I’ve been told to check my portal Thursday evening is definitely freaking me out!
Same… now I’m just counting down the days!
So nervous, literally four more days, good luck everybody!
Do you mean this Thursday or next one?
I’m FREAKING OUT!!! Hope Everyone gets in!!! Ahhhhh the waiting is horrible I just want to know!
3 days!!! Decision release is ALL I’m thinking about! Good luck!
This Thursday, 12/7.
I know! It’s so close, but time is moving so slowly.
@ChickadeeBiscuit I know right? Thursday seems so far away, yet so close! Good luck to everyone!
Agreed!! I feel like the closer we get to it the slower time goes
Oh man I just realized that since I live in Texas and my school day ends at 4:05, decisions might come out while I’m still in AP Calc…
