I'm planning on applying early decision because I know this will increase my chance of admission dramatically. However, I have been considering applying to either Emory/Oxford or American for a while and I can't decide which.
When considering colleges, I've always wanted to go somewhere that has a big campus and is in an urban area and that has a large, diverse student body.
The campus and architecture is what drew me to Emory initially, aside from its prestige. While American has a noticeably smaller (and in my opinion, not as nice) campus, it is in a very large city and far away from home (which is something I desperately want). I plan on majoring in international relations and studying abroad and I think American would be a better place to pursue that, as well as develop my political thinking but Emory just draws me in more.

PROS
Emory - bigger/nicer campus, much closer to home (parents do not want me far away), I am somewhat familiar with Atlanta, good programs, has foreign language I want to minor in (that American doesn't offer)
American - better program for international relations, better study abroad opportunities, D.C. is a political powerhouse, better ED chance

Comments and opinions would be appreciated, especially if you attended either of these universities.
