Early Decision Hopeful

Yes danielle12, they do defer some Ed applicants but I don’t know how common that is. You should all be hearing soon. Best of luck to you and to all waiting to hear.

They will start to send letters on Thursday. One of my friends emailed the admissions office.

Does that mean they won’t make calls or anything till then either?

Interesting. When I asked again today, all I got was the party line reply: “received by Dec 31.”

Greg Grauman, if you’re listening, this has been the only negative part of the entire application experience. Not only is AU one of the last schools to notify its ED applicants, the lack of information is maddening, both to students and parents. You should consider notifying via the Prospective Student Portal on a date certain, such as December 15, in line with other prestigious universities around the country.

Agreed, eldeekay9.

We’re all extremely anxious, and I’ve gotten all but one of my early action acceptances/rejections. AU is my dream school, and the lack of info here is maddening.

Let me just reiterate that I did not personally email the admissions office, one of my friends said they did, they could have been misinformed or simply lied to me. The fact that I heard it second hand means that it should in no way be considered to be a response directly from the admissions office. I saw that someone tweeted at the AU Admissions account asking if the Thursday date was from them. Really shouldn’t have posted that, sorry folks. I do hope it’s Thursday though, the suspense is killing me.

The uncertainty is nerve wracking and I too wish they would post on the portal on a set date.

Does anyone know if they have mailed the letter yet?
Has anyone gotten a phone call?
I am so nervous…my first choice!

I emailed my admissions rep earlier in the week and tho is what she said.

Thank you for checking in. In the past we have been able to mail out decisions around December 15th; however, due in part to the Early Decision deadline extension this year, decisions will be mailed out slightly later. We are currently planning to mail letters on December 19th, so you should receive your decision by mail shortly after that. In any case, the University will be closed December 24th through New Year’s, so letters would be mailed out no later than December 23rd.

That’s all I know and I haven’t heard of any calls or anything else yet.
