If you applied and were accepted ED and you can't decide whether to attend or not by Jan. 15 can you reapply under Regular Decision?

The official answer is probably not. If you applied electronically I dont know how you would even re-apply. If you applied by mail, you would probably need to re-submit. Honestly, my best advice is to call them and explain your situation. You'll get the "you shouldnt have applied if you were not sure" lecture but be really nice and patient and maybe they will work with you. Imagine if they allowed this with everyone... it would create an admissions nightmare and its not fair to those that did the research and decided.

Ohh okay, I understand. The situation I have is that I am only able to attend if I am awarded an ROTC scholarship there and the next scholarship board is held from Jan. 13-15 and chances are I won't find out until two weeks to a month after, and the deadline for ED is Jan. 15. Kinda a tough decision lol

I think if you explain that situation they may understand. I've heard if students realizing that they could not pay for the tuition and walked into the on-campus ROTC office and asked them if they had a scholarship and they were given one on the spot.

Wow, that would be nice lol. I had an interview with the ROTC recruiting officer and I have spoken with him and has said that I am on the top of the last as far as scholarships go but it's just scary committing to a place before I am sure I have the scholarship. And aside from just getting the scholarship I still need to go through DODMERB and get a waiver, which could take some time.

As a fellow Furman mom of two, I would ditto George2007's suggestion, to call your area admission's counselor ASAP. With the current economic climate, I would imagine admissions will understand the need for each student's maximum FA/scholarship $. The sooner you make the call, the better you will feel and understand the options the school can provide. Good luck!~

Thanks, I plan on calling my admissions counselor and the ROTC recruiting officer tomorrow afternoon to see what my options are. :-)
